Alternative grid interactive hybrid inverts? NHX, Hoymiles, Sungold?

If anybody has any real-world experience using any of the following grid interactive/hybrid inverters with current transformer monitoring to limit export, I'd like to hear your input. NHX: https://watts247.com/product-category/inverters/nhx-hybrid-series/ Hoymiles...

Connecting Sol-Ark 15K Inverter to a 100 Amp Sub Panel

No expert here but 100A subpanel and a 63A Solark would overpower the panel. Its my understanding that up to 120% is allowed, so you would have to de-rate your supply breaker from the main panel for protection.

Trying to determine well pump starting and run wattage for a future backup solution

I have a 1.5hp well pump with a 3hp controller that I run on a 6kw 24v low frequency inverter. My pump used 43% of the inverter load so it looks like 2600w running. I think you need to find out what the power requirements are for the pump to make the correct assessment. Reach out to me if you...

Installation of 16 Panels - Wind Management Caribbean. 2 Install Options

Not an expert, but if you want to limit the amount of wind under an array, why not put some blocking around it? It sounds like even at a tilt, the low end would be 8" and the high end would be about 12". Why not take some wood and make a skirt that can be removed for maintenance. Would also...

What do you use to clean a sticky pollen panel?

I use the DocaPole 6-24 Foot Car Cleaning Kit, Amazon. Good and sturdy with a nice brush.

What do you use to clean a sticky pollen panel?

I know the glass is just about indestructible, but the frames are aluminum and lots of glazing at the joint. I'd think ammonia based cleaner would be bad. The purpose built cleaner removes the general dust, but I have to hit the bad spots like 3 times with the brush.

What do you use to clean a sticky pollen panel?

Here in GA, now that the pine pollen is coming to an end, I clean my panels. Its always a pain trying to get the pollen residue off. I normally soap down and scrub with a long handled brush and its wearing me out. What chemicals are safe to use on panels to help loosen the pollen goo?

Charge vs. Float voltage: What if MPPT only has charge?

Great! The MPPT reads about .2v higher than my inverter/charger, with the voltmeter right in the middle. I'll drop it for longevity sake.

    4000 kWh usage per month

I like my little Flir that plugs into my USB C phone port. Find a neighbor and rent it to them for 50$. Do that for 6 neighbors and they just purchased it for you! update: shoot, they be 200$ now ...

Charge vs. Float voltage: What if MPPT only has charge?

Ok, I'm striking out on google search. What exactly is float voltage? Its slightly higher than 100% state of charge, but less than the charge voltage. If my AMPINVT MPPT-60A only has a manual charge voltage (no float option) set at 28.4v, do I care for my 24v Lifepo4 battery?

    4000 kWh usage per month

I'd say it is on the high side. People knew about insulation in the 70's, but that did not mean good energy reducing practices were used in your house. Most time you see more savings from fixing the energy hogs than making more power. Get an inexpensive thermal camera (or one that mounts to...

I am making a huge surplus in solar and not even into spring properly yet. What can I use it up on living in van full time?

I agree with a crypto miner triggered to run on excess power. Maybe install a 120v outlet on the side of the van and charge EV's in a pinch?

where to buy mini split, besides amazon&ebay

I had a great experience with both ecomfort and wholesale hvac. I think they may be the 'same' place. LG 24k unit at 22 SEER. Works great with the coolbot.

One meter, two 200A main panels, EG4 18KVP, CT sensors, zero-export

I have no experience with this, but I've got the same issue with 2x200A panels. I don't think you can feed two panels with the same output (could be a little out of phase = boom). You could use the generator input/output as a dump load to the second panel, but you had better be net metered...

Is there an easy way to clean this?

Go to a welding supply store or hardware store and in the welding area they have different metal brushes for cleaning the slag off of welds. Copper, Stainless brushes may provide the needed soft buffing depending on what the material is there.
