I just got today my lowest electric bill since my off grid system was installed last May.
$18.51 for a 32 day month, and that includes a $5 fixed fee. so we used $13.51 of juice.
previous best was last October $22.61
I already had a grid tie 11kw system, and added a 12kw off grid with 30kwh...
I use Solar Assistant for my off grid LV6548 with eg4 batteries, works great
I also use Home Assistant as my main monitor because I have 2 other grid tie systems to monitor
so with home assistant I can see all 3 systems on 1 screen, a 32" tv in my living rm

still need to protect my battery cables
ordered the gutter/raceway from elliot electric. combined a 6ft and a 2 ft
I am in NE Texas with 6 eg4 batteries and can not get thru the night with all this heat.
also with 12kw panels I can not go below 35 percent SOC or I will not get back to 100 percent by evening, due to running the A/C causing a high load all day
with your low usage 12kw panels and maybe 6...

Retired Senior. sorry if many of us freaked out a bit after seeing your panels. this is a great forum and you can get real advise and help free here. when we look at the whole thing it is a bit hard to know where to start helping
lets start with a few questions
what type inverter do you have ...
The only T- Fuses I could get hands on are the go-power 300 amp., and that took 4 vendors to get
also got the smart shunt
batteries EG4 x 6
should I be using 4/0 battery cables for the entire system ? or is smaller size OK from inverters to buss, fuses are 300 amps
also I did reverse the...

I think your best tech support will be right here.
seems to be a lot of posts about issues with those inverters, but I think many have seemed to be solved ?
anyway, glad I went with the lv6548 mpp units. 9 months so far, zero issues...knock on wood
I do wish mine could take over 250v though...

I live in Texas and lost power during that storm. got about 30 minutes of juice every 12 hours for a couple days. so we added a 12kw off grid system on top of the existing 11kw grid tie
I would vote for low rates vs winterizing for a 100 year storm anytime.
sick of the government trying to...
Im using the dual setup with older model MPP LV6548 with the 250w pv input. and 6 batteries eg4

Packscrapper, I guess I dont understand the problem
I have 2 gridtied systems but also have an off grid "grid assist" system
if the off grid system can not supply the loads then it uses the grid to help it. no interconnect agreement required, no transfer switch needed, all automatic with LV6548...
OK. interesting post. maybe presented in a slightly know it all manner....
I agree that trying to get a fully automatic/smart load shedding/complete backup/while away from home/never fails
system may require a crack pipe and/or a millionaires budget
to get maybe 90-95% is easily doable, and...
