Hello - I have a Victron Multiplus II 12V 3000VA that I have installed into my Travel Trailer. Air conditioner runs, microwave works, etc. There does not seem to be any issues.

My question is...

Should I have the ground connection on the Inverter connected to something? Is there any danger in me not having it connected to something?

But only like there does not seem to be any issues in not wearing a safety belt, until you crash.

That's two questions ;) The answers are 'yes' and 'yes', IMHO, unless every device that you are powering from the inverter is double-insulated.

From what I have learned from others on here more experience with grounding, is that without a ground to neutral bond the RCD will not trigger. This would be a shock hazard in the case of equipment failure.

To be honest, all this answers are in the multiplus manual, including the ground relay for RCD operation and chassis ground. Yes you should ground the inverter to the chassis, and ALL metal appliances that are powered. But as I said, you have to activate the ground relay in VE config for stand alone operation to enable the RCD to work.

As for the mounting position, that inverter needs to exhaust the warm air pushed by the internal fan, why don’t you lift it a little so it can cool the right side as well?
