the implication is that this on/off style results in slower thickening of the SEI (solid electrolyte interface). thicker sei -> more resistance/inefficiency -> less capacity

kind of reminds me of the packing problem and shaking a box to get things to settle

for a charger to do the pulsing thing *and* not waste solar potential, there would probably need to be more capacitor or buffer components.

during the "off" pauses, the charger would need to store a bit more energy to get the most from solar panels

pulse charging/discharging. almost every lithium battery spec sheet speaks of it and gives limits but does not explain how to do it.
