diy solar

This process could be a great advancement in the future.

It would be nice if it worked but due to all the money being thrown around into Green technology it seems like everyone is claiming they have something amazing and rarely does anything come out of it.

cool concept.

instead of the charger applying continuous constant current, the idea is to alternate between constant current and no or little current

article mentions square wave, so charge for a moment then stop and repeat this.

the implication is that this on/off style results in slower thickening of the SEI (solid electrolyte interface). thicker sei -> more resistance/inefficiency -> less capacity

kind of reminds me of the packing problem and shaking a box to get things to settle

thanks for sharing

for a charger to do the pulsing thing *and* not waste solar potential, there would probably need to be more capacitor or buffer components.

during the "off" pauses, the charger would need to store a bit more energy to get the most from solar panels
