FINALLY finished my 11kw DIY.
I’ve been working on this since May, and finally powered it up last night with today being the first day testing… and it didn’t disappoint. Sol-ark 8K with 11kw URE 395w Bi-facial panels on a Sinclair Designs Skyrack 2.0 adjustable. Have 15kwh Jakiper rack mount batteries as well as another 14kwh home built battery with CATL 280ah cells and a JK BMS, giving me a total of 29kwh. I have everything to make a second battery but I put that on hold while I finished the array.
300’ between the house and the array, through the woods of course (don’t want to make it too easy on myself), to get to a great spot with zero shade until about 5pm.
What a perfect day for a first test run. I’m over-paneled of course, I wanted to be for the winters here. It’s also why I went with bifacial panels. Power ramped up quick today and I was clipping by 10a and charged my batteries from 36% to full in about 4 hours, while also powering the whole house. (I’m set to “limit to home” making my own micro grid.
I’ve been so impressed with the Sol-ark. I’ve had 9 panels setup in the backyard running my critical loads panel for a few months while I finished the work outside and the inverter has been flawless. I probably should have gone with the 12k, but live and learn.
Hoping to pass my final with no major issues.
