EG4 Trade in credits??!!?? NOICE!!

Sounds like they know they have a problem with the 6k and are trying to avoid future warranty claims.

I submitted for the upgrade from 2x EG4-6500; the new unit looks great. Glad they are offering an upgrade path; hope they respond soon to the request.

We are building this into our DNA as we go forward as many DIYers are buying one level of gear at a time and we want to be the company that supports their upgrade agenda and general DIY journey as time goes on.

So, to be clear, the whole house guys with 2x6500ex or 2x 6000ex will get $1500 off of the 18kpv, net cost $4099.

most of our 6.5-6kw customers who have them for the features they are designed for are happy, if you want to take the next step up this makes it easier financially.
What if we are not the original owners of the product? Is it still eligible for the trade in/trade up?

Also, what happens to the old equipment? Do you guys recycle it or refurbish and resell?

Good deal.
May take advantage of it when I get the house built.
How long is this good for James?

I returned mine (6500ex) . I had all ready bought a 18 KPV and was not aware of this program. They sent me a UPS return label and I suppose the return was taken out of my credit. Mine had never been hooked up and was as new in the box, so it could possibly be resold sense nothing was determined to be wrong with it at this point. I just did not want it because the 18kpv is such a better box all around. Even though I did loss some of my cost I am pleased Signature Solar worked this out with me. So I give SS a thumbs up, again.

What changes to my 6000ex setup would have to be changed to utilize the new 6000xp unit. I have just installed my 6000ex. Bought over a year ago with intentions of buying a second and got set back on installing, cause I could never catch another in stock when I looked. Now I’m seeing I can’t add another unit without swapping to the newer ones. Kind of dis heartening having to start over again. Thanks.

Ac wiring would likely be the same depending on how you have your sub panel wired. DC will be simpler, the integrated DC breakers make it easy. And solar has 2 strings instead of one. So that should be easier also.
