Looks interesting. I can only find it being shipped from SJ Puerto Rico. I am a beginner and would like feedback on this system. From what I understand, it has 3000 per leg, but somehow can add up to 20%of the unused power from the other leg if available and needed. The price almost looks like a scam.

Sorry I have no Idea what you mean. Sorry. Its on eBay Victron Inverter RS 48V/6000A PIN482601000, 100A Autotransformer 120/240 Combo That is the search link.

That’s exactly what I’m doing on here asking as a beginner. I thought someone gould help. I never do those kind of things without research like I’m doing now before I spend a penny.

Asked and answered. North America uses 60 cycles per second, not 50, so you can't use it here.

The reason I was perhaps a bit 'strict' in my reply is because of safety reasons. Working with EU inverters in the States using auto transformers to turn 240V single phase to split phase is not necessarily straight forward (especially when it comes to neutrals, bonding, etc.). It might seem to work, but it could be very dangerous. You can find the Victron doc on the auto transformer here:

But no matter what, the RS inverter will only output 50Hz, not 60Hz - so you will end up with issues there too. Manual:

Wow, thanks for your help. I guess I would be better off using two Victron Multi-Plus 5000’s with the proper link cable. Just caught my eye and looked too good to be true. Again thanks for sharing your wisdom with a beginner.

Think how few of us would be here if our parents had followed that line of thinking.
very true….consider how well off the general mass of parents would be…$$$ .. retired, fit and traveling the world at 45…..i know there’s two sides to that argument….both have valid points.

Unless you know what you're getting into, don't.
I wish someone had of told me that in August 2022 before my DA spent one penny with Signature Solar on two new poj 6500ex’s, promoted by Will. I should of known better than to trust reviews on equipment people get for free. Edit: Signature Solar stood behind their products, provide great customer service, tech support and a fair resolution. I highly recommend them now. What a stress relief! Thank you!

Yes, glad I waited. Signature Solar is busy taking care of customer support victims. Same with MPP and Growatt. It seems the chinese are not quite ready for the budget primetime. Those seeking cheap are taking a 50/50 chance. Some workout with a few small glitches, others not so good. Even Victron products can have their problems. Seems that it’s best to buy with quality support as a priority. I’ve been trying to put a system together for over a year, learning and waiting. I have solar panels, wire, tools, hardware, and have yet to purchase home electronics. My Grendel 2200 was a good purchase for my van, but I am pretty much saving up for Victron electronic components for the home. Forums like this one are such an advantage when it comes to getting help from knowledgeable people. Thanks for helping others.

It can be set to output 60Hz (footnote 1):
