Just recently saw Wills thread on how to connect a big inverter with big caps inside to your battleborns. I didn't know that then and all 8 went off line. Just connect a 12v battery to each EXCEPT last one in series....last one in series use a power resistor to charge....see Wills tootytorial...

From the installations that I see, it looks like most are mounting the unit to plywood. The installation instructions say don't mount to anything that is flammable! Probably no big deal if you mount it in a shed and then if it burns up...no problem...buy new batteries and all-in-one and put them...
