    Electric oven

About right for the inverters. Not enough on the solar and battery, but location matters for sure. Plus add at least a small generator even if it's just in case. I think you would be more comfortable with 45kw solar and 100kwh or more of battery.

    Vertical mounted bi-facial panel question

Also almost any array designed to fill up for night time will be about miniumum 2x the actual load during the day so you can save some for night time. You may be able to slightly extend the hours covered, but not enough to make a big difference vs. optimal angle in my opinion. If you are way...

    Chargeverter problem

Do you mean 120v? or 240v? I think the twist lock outlets are usually for 30a @ 240v or 30a @ 120v. Mine was putting out about 14 amps at 240 volts. so 14a x 240v=3360 watts

    Chargeverter problem

I just installed one today with a 6500/5000 watt champion generator. The best the generator will do is about 3000 watts before it lugs out and generator cuts out the load. So out of my 5000 running watts I only get about 60% before the generator lugs out. Maybe Champion is a bit too optimistic...?

    EG4 6000XP parallel operation with 4 inverters

Sounds like some serious loads. Maybe the Solark 3 phase would be a good idea, put a 3 phase panel in then do a subpanel to the house with 208v (if that works for all the house loads).

    EG4 6000XP parallel operation with 4 inverters

How much load do you have in the shop? Are you running plasma cutters and welders a lot? Most things on breakers use 1/3rd or less of the power that the breaker is rated for. You don't have to bring in a full 200a just because that's what was there. Even a 5hp table saw is probably only using...

    EG4 6000XP parallel operation with 4 inverters

My house looks like this. 2 minisplits (4 tons atm) Heat pump dryer, induction stove, etc. My max load without workshop loads is around 8-12kw. I think 4 6000xp's should be fine. I would recommend setting up Emporia for monitoring. It's pretty cheap, and I think you could probably get away with...

    most durable inverters

I have to say my experience with Magnum is not as good. 1 Inverter warrantied, then broke again (constant flickering output not sure how to fix). Slow to adjust to loads so produces kind of a dirty power that gets the UPS's singing. Reliability is good other than that, but super slow to pickup...

December PV starting off crappy again.

For my climate really enjoy a small pellet stove as an alternative to running a generator. Much easier to run than a wood stove, and has a separate intake/outake so it doesn't depressurize the house. Comfortable and reasonable IMO. Grew up doing the wood stove with chainsaw lumber, and love this...

    Optimum panels for EG4 6000xp

I did the same I went for the hyperion bifacials. I am thinking 2 inverters with 8-9 panels per separate mppt. I think each (2) mppt is separate, so should be able to run different sizes to each mppt input.

    eg4 18k with generator

Same kind of problem. The inverters for some reason want to have the generator fully take over the load. Chargeverter is simpler. 8k will probably not handle all of your loads.

    Vertical mounted bi-facial panel question

You're designing it wrong...I mounted east-west for offgrid, but now I realize that it would be best to just optimize for max solar production for the worst time of year for your area. For me that means steep slant for winter. You'll need batteries so your design has to be to fill up the...

Sinclair Fixed rack for 40 panels. ***SOLD***

Was looking for some ground mount sets, was planning on diying it. What's the lowest you could go on it? I'm in TN, but I could make the trek if it's worth it. What part of NC is it?

    I don't like adjustable racking

For offgridders it's fixed at 45 Degrees for winter in Tennessee. So much extra power during the summer anyway. The thing that I struggle with is the cost of racking is almost as much as the panels. There has to be someway to mount panels affordably.

    EG4 6000XP vs EG4 18KPV

I think you are assuming that the breaker is how many amps the appliance actually uses. Eg. a fridge actually only uses 400-600 watts of power. If you want to understand your actual loads you'll want to monitor. Emporia Vue is a good system for that, or a multimeter that measures amp could give...

14.4 KW solar, 40.96 kWh backup, 2 solark 15k inverters, off grid family home, doable or delusional?

Your in the ballpark. I would up the batteries if possible. 100kwh is comfortable and only running generator during winter time (2-3 months). I'm at 12kw solar and 100kwh batteries and need a bit more solar. No gas appliances though, but high efficiency electric appliances, and a pellet stove...

    Stand-alone UPS always clicking

I get similar things on my Magnum 4448 LF inverters. The UPS's in the house will click sometimes. Seems like mostly with a large load. Plus the lights dim sometimes when the oven is clicking on and off. Does the new 6000x or the 18k manage power changes/stability better (no clicking UPS's due...

    Clothes Dryer

I will say, probably not a bad idea to check all of your connections in the box etc. and make sure you don't have a loose neutral or hot. I went through mine and tightened everything up a little bit. Some connections weren't as tight as when it was installed.

    Clothes Dryer

My concern is that it would be slowly damaging something....Also not sure if there is a way to know how quickly the inverter will respond when you buy it. It's weird when every 5-10 min. as the oven is cycling on/off the lights dim each time...disconcerting, and not something I've experienced on...

    Clothes Dryer

I have a similar situation with an oven. When the thermostat closes on the oven the lights dim for a second. Voltage is dropping from 240v to 220v because the inverters aren't responding fast enough to the load.

    Moving off grid to Tennessee

Maybe schedule some time with this guy for a consult. https://practicalpreppers.com/ He is a solar installer and does some consulting. I think you would want space by the panel to mount inverters and stack batteries. Conduit that reaches that space to the ground mount outside. I think those are...

    Moving off grid to Tennessee

I'm near Murfreesboro,TN setup a system with about 20kw pv (east/west), 100kwh battery, and 4 magnum 4400watt inverters. Have been running the system since about May. The house is large and all electric, but tightly built/insulated. so far it's working. For Middle TN solar numbers you can use...

    magnum inverters any good?

I contacted them a couple of times, mostly mistakes I made, no big complaints so far. One fix under warranty (probably my issue). For quality I think victron has the best rep probably. plus you get bluetooth into the devices.

    Signature Solar EG4 6.5K Off-Grid Inverter | 6500EX-48

Looking into these inverters the spec sheets list THD as greater than 3%, I am seeing the 6548 as 8%-10% THD is Greater than 3% a misprint or are they really just trying to tell me that it distorts a lot worse than the grid?
