    New Tariffs in the States

The Chinese panels are already shipped thru/via other south east Asian countries and then onwards to the US to get around existing tariffs. I don't think anyone is doing the same for LFP cells so they may go up, but keep in mind cell prices continue to drop.

I'm more concerned about his fuse holder setup. What is the backer they are attached to? I've also seen mention that "Victron recommends this fuse". Well, yes, but you also have to look at how they are installed. When you compare with a Victron megafuse holder:

Yes, Batrium would recommend a contactor per string. In the OPs case he chose to use one single contactor, beyond the seven mega fuses.

Who is still building DIY batteries

Was looking at Gobel pricing and looks like you could get the raw cells for 72 14kWh batteries for less than $63k excluding shipping. But at that qty I'm sure they'd prob throw in free shipping on a container.

    No pre-charge resistor solution

Victrons have a switch: on/off/charger only.

    No pre-charge resistor solution

For such a small inverter I doubt you'll trip any battery BMS. I don't need to precharge my Victron 48/1200.

    Rethinking my battery box

I think there was a thread somewhere where it was found that st gobain had a compliant foam available that was specifically used in EV battery packs. Various thicknesses etc. Minimum order was in the $200 range or soemthing?

It's at a high state of charge when differences will be most apparent.

    Victron 100/250 overcharging Lithium battery

This is a big Delta. Is this a recently built battery?

    Victron 100/250 overcharging Lithium battery

Yes but that's not a problem for a Victron SCC. It won't be damaged if there's no battery connected.

What was your most interesting recent non solar project?

3d printing is fine and dandy but liquid metal!

What was your most interesting recent non solar project?

Yeah up in the Nordic countries you need to build a box for the experience you get for free walking out the door.

Class T fuse holder termination - I think I screwed up.

I don't have a boat but it seems the ignition protected one will contain the class T and prevent any arcing within the enclosure from propogating externally?

Class T fuse holder termination - I think I screwed up.

Should one get the ignition protected version? Less risk if an LFP cells starts venting hydrogen?

    Victron 100/250 overcharging Lithium battery

Do you have a smartphone that you can install Victron Connect on? that should allow you to change all settings via bluetooth, including bulk, absorb etc. Can adjust to what was working with the Renigy. The lithium preset can be a little high for some batteries especially if they aren't actively...

Foundry would certainly make a change from all the hot water heater diversion stuff most resort to :)

Very new to solar but started purchasing items, not sure of the final specs of the whole system.

IIRC you had residents using oil filled heaters like drunken sailors? Not sure if you considered heat pumps to reduce that heating load?

Has anyone ever used these din rail manual transfer switches?

I'd like to think that's them promising to reimburse your hotel expenses while your house is rebuilt after the fire their switch causes.

Remains to be seen if the traditional prismatic cells are considered "non EV" as they can be assembled into an EV battery.

Yes, metal enclosures for sure. I'm switching my mnpv6 combiner box over to fuses from 150V mnepv breakers now that I have the 450/100. Also a good place to transition from PV cable to fine stranded to go to the sccs.

    circuit breaker spark

I'm not sure what country you are in but I think suggested retail for the Midnite mnedc175 and 250A is $142. Cheapest now altE is gone is Stellavolta which can use Amazon payment (usually ends up cheaper with shipping that Stellavolta via Amazon). Edit, oh I see they are double pole versions...

    Battery draw down at night?

Prob the lowest the battery has been (12.5kWh) since I moved the fridge, wfh setup and TV over to my battery inverter (48/1200 running pass through into a Delta 2 max). I have to unplug the 48/1200 if I'm going to run a bigger load like the air fryer or four slices of toast, so the d2m can...

Adventures in poor planning, spiteful engineering and emotional math.

If the room could get to 158f you need to get some kind of active ventilation in there to handle the heat being discharged from the inverter, let alone looking after the batteries. Their optimum temperature is 25C, at higher temps their lifecycle starts to reduce rapidly.
