Recovering bricked / bootloader schneider context XW inverter with InsightHome

Yeah, like a little hole you push a pin in to set everything back to original firmware. Could have used that a couple months ago when everything was so bricked (in a pro) that all insight selections, including restore defaults, was greyed out. In the end I believe it was BECAUSE I was using an...

schneider xw pro set up for 48v lifepo4 battery bank

It's my understanding that xwpro will work fine with the most recent firmware updates, both for the inverter and insight. Xw+ is a different story.

schneider xw pro set up for 48v lifepo4 battery bank

Just set the xw and the mppt to the bulk/absorb/float that sok recommends. Xanbus terminated? How is the insight powered? Keep trying? I recall that last one worked for some people. After you upgrade both insight and xw firmware, you will want to restore defaults and reset the grid codes.

who is still burning wood in april?

May burning for me today. Probably could have made it fine with the Mitsubishi hp, but it rained an inch and the roof is a little leaky, so I wanted to dry it out a bit.

    PG&E \ Off-Grid System Design

Isn't that all it's doing in terms of a pge interaction? I'm not familiar with the proposed equipment, I must admit.

    PG&E \ Off-Grid System Design

I don't think one needs to tell pge that they plug in a battery charger and charge batteries.

    House burned down

3V could pull a lot of current with the primary resistance being the thick cables we all tend to use. I don't know if it is enough to maintain a plasma across the distance of the gap in these non-T fuses though. Seems like there needed to be some sort of flammable material already present when...

XW+ Pulsing with Air Fryer Load

It's a current model Breville air-fryer. I could understand some pulsing with a crummy pid in on-off mode for temp regulation when at/near temp, but the pulsing during warm up is poor design in my opinion. I wonder if a 240V European model would cause the same audible effect from the XW...

XW+ Pulsing with Air Fryer Load

I get that the load is resistive, but the sound from the xw is quite pronounced, and I'm worried that it's causing excessive wear to the inverter. Should I not worry? It's an 1800W unit, and even pulses on heat-up, which I think is silly. It's stated it's for more even heat, which could have...

Higher V Pump for Direct DC to Pump Solar Thermal

Yeah I'm guessing the demand is a big part of it. The end game is the buffer tank, probably a 100-300gal poly tank with insulation all around it. I'd heat it with these two panels, a chofu wood burner, and dump load from main pv system. I have the sr548 controller that should be able to...

Higher V Pump for Direct DC to Pump Solar Thermal

And I just don't understand why pv direct pump controllers are so expensive. I have a sunpumps one on my spring, but that drives a Dankoff pump to quite high head, and has lots of settings and float switch options.

Higher V Pump for Direct DC to Pump Solar Thermal

Thanks OZ, the most worrisome thing about that pump is that it seems too cheap for the specs. Otherwise, I've read that motors can get fried in my application by spinning too fast with too high V, or the attempted current distribution when the light is low and the pump just barely able to run...

Higher V Pump for Direct DC to Pump Solar Thermal

So, I heat my stock tank with two parallel thermal panels. Manually plug in an ac pump to an extension cord each day. I bought a kit to control it automatically with a few T probes. It has a horrible manual, but should have the ability to heat an aux tank, so I can overheat it and then heat...

Solar advice for my hot tub

Likely not going to find the pv to do it dc direct for $400.... maybe a whole old stack from a decomissioned syestem from craigslist or the like? Anyway, the op will have to put in some work, likely both initially and ongoing, to have soaking water after the sun goes down. You can get ghetto...

Recovering bricked / bootloader schneider context XW inverter with InsightHome

Solar advice for my hot tub

While sunshine eggo is not wrong, let me offer an alternative scenario. A couple of years ago, a neighbor offered up two solar thermal panels. Not evacuated tube, just the copper pipes with fins in a box with glass. I got them home and amazingly they didn't leak. A year before, we bought a...

    XW Pro Grid Support limitations?

So, if you were charging with just L1 and L2, and never even connected the N, it would charge fine, but you'd lose all 120V circuits on pass through during the charge, or would the internal wizards throw a fit?

    XW Pro Grid Support limitations?

To make sure I'm getting what you're saying @GXMnow , if you had a G N bond upstream (in a taking energy from the grid sense) of the AC1 terminals, this bond would not exist for the system when powering from the grid? I don't have any grid connection, but instead rely on the N G bond internal to...

Charging One Off-Grid System from Another

I just confirmed with these two inverters that the load lines do indeed need to be bridged for both to go into invert mode. Strangely, independently on, I had calibrated the invert V of each to within 0.5V. Now, bridged, they are about 1V out of 240 off. I should re-confirm the independent...

Anybody tried new JK BMS with inverter communication support?

When I paralleled, there was no indication either of the slave data being agglomerated in the primary, which is sort of how I was figuring it should work. I also know that the pc software has been buggy all along for other reasons as well. I've just been a little hesitant to plug the master...
