Thanks

I went to my NAPA for 4/0 1/2" lugs if I'm remembering properly. I live in an area with a lot of agricultural equipment so the napa has a crazy good selection and isn't too crazy expensive

Amazon 5pcs $17.35 Selterm brand two days to most places. These are considered “starter lugs” and are used for most battery and welding applications. Ancor and Selterm are both very good brands. I prefer the tinned version, lightly polish the inside with 3M cloth before hydraulic crimping for ultimate connection and use adhesive lines heat shrink to preserve joint.

“Power lugs” are the next step up and usually used in AC power distribution, more expensive and more difficult to find.

For next time, here’s a link to the best battery cable.

Here’s a link to 4/0 lugs.

That barrel is short in the picture. They look short even for a “starter” lug. They have paint like a “power” lug. These are 2/0 lugs, starter on right, power middle and I don’t know what the left Chinese ones are, but they are even bigger, better high quality copper. They all can’t use the same die to crimp. The cables and lugs that ceautoelectric supply offers are made to fit each other. Their cables have a higher strand count and a larger OD than anything else that I’ve seen. Same with the lugs, larger ID and thick walls to fit their cables.

I use PolarWire products sometimes. While they are excellent, the ceauto products are heavier duty.

If you go with the ceauto products you’ll need to buy one of their crimpers due to the oversized lugs.

I use a Greenlee crimp tool which results in wings on the crimps of the ceauto lugs. Still good crimps, but not as pretty.

Check out their offerings on the website.
