12kWp 48kWh Offgrid system SMA Sunny Island / Victron

So now i have finished my offgrid system in south germany.

its a 12kWp PV - Heckert solar - no shading 42° slope - south west

64x 230Ah EVE lfp in 16s 2p configurartion (x2)
have space for 2x 16s 300Ah if need them
the shelf is anchored into the solid brick wall and concreted in to the basement floor

SMA Sunny Island 8.0
why sma? because back then there were no mp2 8000 or 10000 availabile

SMA Sunny Boy 5.0 (6kwp solar)
Victron mppt 450/100 (6kwp solar)

Raspberry with venus OS
Problem the sunny island is not supported by venus os but i dont care, i need only the pv yield of the sunny boy and the mppt
system overall efficency is 93% used power / generated pv power

Battery on durable wooden shelf heat insulated between cells and wood with ceramic flexible sheet
cell to cell spacer temasil ng gasket paper 1mm rated to 400°C
threded rods m8 with silicone tube
fibre board on top with mounted seplos bms in dumb mode
diy bms stuart pittaway for canbus control venus os and sunny island with dynamic charge algorithm
fuses 250A between battery and bms and additional 250A in the victron lynx, flexible non flammable cables 70mm²

NH fuses for the inverters/charge controller


nothing fancy

i stay all year offgrid have no electricity meter anymore, heating is on natural gas december/january. feb- nov the water heating rod is the primary heating source
the ng consumption is now halved.

the cooking is on lpg too for wintertime

it needs some discipline in winter to not get a blackout but i have a honda generator too(never used that it is just for emergency)
