Automatic system restart for air con

The compressor came on right away when I first started it. I did wait a few minutes after I plugged it in for the compressor to kick in. I cycled the on/off switch to on and the compressor came on. But maybe I should’ve waited longer when I plugged in and it would’ve eventually come on?
You cannot start a compressor within about 10 minutes (?) of having turned it off. when the power supply is removed and later comes back up, it doesn’t know how long it has been since it was turned off, so it always waits 10 (?) Just to be sure. You might have to wait for that amount of time for it to come back on.

At first, Midea sent a nice email saying that their units did not automatically restart.

I asked “are you sure?” and they sent this.

For what it’s worth, Mitsubishi mini splits can be configured so that they do not come back up when the power returns, but the default is for them to pick up where it left off.

This model Midea also has auto restart after power outage. It’s the Costco model in my area.
