I'm thinking of building a system for my Land Cruiser to power a 12V fridge, LED light bars, and possibly some other small items. I could mount an auxiliary battery (AGM, not Li) in the engine bay, and run cabling to the rear, but I was thinking of building a "box" for the cargo area that would house the battery, DC-DC charger, battery monitor, etc. rather than having those electronics next to a hot engine.

Looking for suggestions/sources for boxes...most seem to be sized based on the BI lead acid dimensions. Thanks!

I have been thinking about doing the same, currently I just used plywood, but I found this online that would work. Probably a bit oversized, but would definitely do the trick.

Thanks. I've seen that box but it's too large. The same company makes several others including this one, which is still a little big: https://www.amazon.com/NOCO-HM408-C...sr_1_1?keywords=noco+4d&qid=1577670734&sr=8-1

A legal sized file box might be workable: https://www.amazon.com/IRIS-Store-S...rowse-bin:5994837011&s=office-products&sr=1-9

You could use literally anything. Make sure there is adequate airflow. I would recommend using a switch or a terminal block or something so you can remove the box without having to worry about a live wire coming from the vehicle battery dangling about
