Hi all. I'm new to this forum so please take it easy on me. If I need to repost this somewhere else please let me know.

I'm having a solar system installed on the house and I'm looking into building a battery system for it. the contractor will only install a Tesla powerwall or a LG Chem to the tune of $8K+. The capacity of either of those are paltry at best and if I'm going to get a battery back up, it better damn well do some backing up. I've settled on the LiFePo4 3.2v 200Ah https://lifepo4shop.com/collections...h-lifepo4-battery-pack?variant=31840230768706
I'm looking at running them in a 48V 600Ah configuration. This looks to be the best bang for my buck unless I'm missing something somewhere (of which I'm pretty sure I am). I'll be racking them and wiring the whole system myself. The contractor isn't having anything to do with the batteries. The system will be a hybrid grid tied A/C coupled system running 27 Panasonic 330w panels with 25 Enphase microinverters. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding the battery bank (primarily) or the solar system as a whole?

I looked at that link... EEK ! That's INSANE !
I have to tell you, this is obviously a DIY Forum and most of us build our own battery packs & banks and the prices indicated at that site are way over the top.

Building a Battery Pack is not hard, time patience and "cautious respect" for what your playing with and your good to go.
48V pack consists of 16X LiFePo4 Cells if in simple Series Configuration (most optimal)
Each pack would need a 16S BMS so that each cell can be monitored & managed by the BMS (Battery Management System)

Here Quick example using my favourite Cell Vendor (XUBA Electronics 280AH cells)
16 Pieces 280AH cells $ 1,356.64 Ship to United States by Express …Lead Time 15 days Shipping time 18-25 days $ 822.20
Total $ 2,178.84

This makes ONE 48V/280AH Pack
Add a Smart BMS for around $125.00
Casing to house the cells is open, make your own, buy a box ?

TOTAL per 48V/280AH = 2,303.64‬ USD X 2 Packs for 560AH = $4,607.28 or X3 Packs for 840AH = $6,910.92‬

* 16 280AH cells weigh 83.2Kg / 183.4 Lbs.

Hope that helps.
Steve
Compared to the Link you provided which wants $3,596.00 for 48V/200AH (16 x 200AH cells)

Whoa, that looks like a pretty good deal for Lifepo4 cells. I've heard that it's important to check if the cells are actually new instead of grade B or used. Do you know if the link you shared is for new cells?
