Chemistry. The static voltage you measure isn’t as critical as LiFePo voltages. So basically not a big concern with fla or agm at those variances. When I measure voltages one battery has from 0.05 to 0.1 higher voltage. Is that normal?
FLA settings will (or should) weekly or biweekly equalize by charging to 15+ volts and ‘boost’ 13.8ish. This keeps fla happy.I'm wondering what is differences between these two settings?
that will boil your batteries rather quickly. Why would you equalize that frequently?FLA settings will (or should) weekly or biweekly equalize by charging to 15+ volts and ‘boost’ 13.8ish. This keeps fla happy.
Hasn’t seemed to hurt…will boil your batteries rather quickly. Why would you equalize that frequently?
depends also on calendar age, The first 2-3 years they hardly loose anything. After that they start to need more water. But across my five batteries I don’t think I’ve used even close to a quart of distilled water in the last 12 months so I don’t appear to be boiling off water (which also would be assumed to mean the batteries aren’t stressed imho).
Got it. So it’s not happening yet, been three years. If they started failing now I’d be disappointed but not entirely surprised but I don’t expect them to start showing weakness for a few more years based on past experiences. Time will tell. After that they start to need more water.
