I am planning on getting a Sunsynk Ecco 8kW Hybrid Inverter - if the grid goes down, does the inverter stop providing power to the house? (I have three Pylontech US5000 batteries.)
@SenileOldGit Yes you can use the inverter for supplying your house, when the electricity is down. But you must use the load output. When Your electricity is often unstable or off, You can use the generator input for battery charging by the diesel/gasoline generator or other power source.
The battery mode lasting depend on your power consumption.
I use this 12kW model inverter and I use the "island mode" (I have contactor for grid disconnection driven by PLC) over 8 month per year. Over the winter the power plant is in "hybernation mode", that means no-production / no-consumption. Powerplant over the winter time is bypassed or switched off, when the snow lying on the panels.
