How quiet (or loud) is an EG4 3000EHV with no PV and only batteries? Would be supporting a critical load subpanel with only 1 or 2 rack batteries as a UPS. So for 98% of the time, it would be on grid power with fully charged batteries standing by. In a grid outage, the batteries would supply power, and then recharge once grid power is restored. Normal load would be 400-1000 watts, with peaks of 2000 watts. No PV at this time, years away from that for this part of the system.

Of course this is a finished basement and the panel is in a spare bedroom. So this would be mounted to the wall in the spare bedroom adjacent to the panels. Ideally I want it to be very quiet or silent when on grid power with batteries not charging. I'm assuming fans would speed up for battery charging after an outage?

It does change with load, at around 1000w of charging the fan is definitely going. At below 500w of doing anything, its nearly silent. This is my experience with the V2 model.
