In the EG4 48v manual, it states to store the batteries at 100%. I’m generally conflicted on what the right voltage is for LiFePo4 cells.

1. My Victron Smart charger goes into “Storage Mode” which puts the cells at around 3.4v each. The SOC on the battery still shows 100%.

2. Others say to discharge the BMS SOC to 50-80% depending on who you ask.

3. Eg4 says fill em up!

1. 3.4V is still about 100%
2. Less important for LFP vs. other types of Lithium, especially in mild conditions.
3. The cells self-discharge, and the BMS can draw them down as well.

Concerning #2:

watch to the end.

50% or something in the middle is theoretically best, if you are going to check on them in 3-6 months.

EG4 says 100% to give them the best chance of not self discharging past 0% if you leave them forgotten for over a year.
