Looking for guidance here.

Is there a way to warranty an EG4 product when the vendor is less than helpful.

I know certain vendors have approved authorized warranty center / companies.

What are the approved EG4 repair centers ?

You did not stock one. Will liked it so much I figure give it a try.

You and your staff have been great to me...


It was new BTW not a refurb.

Please don't think that my business association has any impact on my willingness to help. I hang out here to help people out, not hold someone's purchasing decision against them.

Getting @SignatureSolarJess involved is probably the best way to get your issue resolved.

I wasted a couple weeks with her. Then believe it or not Signature SolarJames replied to me and made a little progress. He got me a tech. Tech agreed it was defective. Moving on to Resolution specialist. Resolution team informs that item was not deemed defective according to their process. They will allow me to return it minus fees and shipping. For an in store credit less than the purchase price.

I have wasted enough time with them. Luckily some of their free shipping sales never worked and the never honored when calling them or I might be stuck with more of their product preying it never fails. Sales is the only dept that excels there and even then....

Basically their burdensome jibberish making my life difficult. All I wanted was a working unit or credit towards a victron....

Jason treatment of my SOK warranty was unbelievably good and outstanding when comparing him to Jess and SS

BTW Now my SOK batteries are all within 1-2 milivolts and never stray more than 5 under heavy charge/discharge. Thanks to you and your staff for doing your job.!!!!! and some one else's job

I know this is true. Jason was kind enough to discuss my findings. The unit is clearly not functioning correctly. Just hoping to put this behind me. Thanks for your time.

Perhaps a you tube video of dropping it from an elevated platform ? A trip to the rifle range ? At this point I own a 700 dollar boat anchor but I don't want to pollute the lake with an electronic device....

Maybe it will make pretty colors at my next bonfire :)

Chris the "resolution specialist" has not responded to my last email... Contacted EG4. They told me this is a common problem I am experiencing with SS. Hope to get some thing this week. Been strugging with SS for several weeks. Still have almost 3 years left on a 3 year warranty. We have time....

Wow that's not good I just ordered a 6000xp from them hasn't shipped yet. Wondering if I should have gone with Current Connected. How long is a reseller on the hook for warranty work. EG4 should be able to support their product.

Hopefully things work out for you. It does a lot of the time. Otherwise prior to shipping, you still have time... Your call.
I will update if EG4 causes SS to take care of the customer....

What was the issue with the inverter you never mentioned the problem.
 
multiple problems.

Three techs at solar companies(2 of which were SS and EG4) agree it should be replaced. Customer service has not replied for several days. Hopefully they will reply soon.

The "funny" thing about this is that both EG4 and SS are owned by the same person, so one company blaming the other for the lack of resolution is pure comedy, and a bold faced lie. Sorry you're having this problem but unfortunately, it's one that has repeated itself here for several years. Hopefully someone from SS will come along and take care of it for you. They do stand behind what they sell and will eventually get it resolved. Stay on them until it is!

I got that impression I remember a video Will made said look at the company who actually manufactures the inverter like Luxpower, or Voltronic not the company selling it. Then research reviews of all inverters those companies manufacture. Made sense to me if one company has lot of complaints spanning several brand names one to avoid. Reminds me of the HVAC industry have 2-3 actually manufactures 15 different sub-brands. Even more odd how you can buy Luxpower inverters instead of a EG4 Luxpower.

Hi @shopman To clarify, EG4 and SS have officially split and are two separate companies now. We support each other very much but we are no longer one. ☀️ :)

One entity can own two companies, of course, so the original statement about SS and EG4 being owned by the same person could still be true even if they are completely separate companies legally.

The company is owned by a single individual but operates as two distinct entities.

I'm trying. No reply again today from SS. Last emailed the them Feb 19 2024. I did check my spam folder. Nothing

At this point doesn't seem to matter who owns what. They are more concerned with new money from new customers...Every where I go to on the internet they have more money in advertising. I understand they need to keep THEIR lights on. Mine not so much....
