Anyone familiar with these?

 
Looks nice. The "inquire about our products" at the bottom of the page tells me that they are probably costly. I bet shipping is the real issue with these though. On the slow boat from china would be my guess. The first picture reminds me of "The Great Escape."

I installed a heat pump hybrid water heater, it is very efficient. For what it cost to purchase and the small amount of power it takes, it is a far better choice than a solar water heater system.
 
I think in terms of logistics and install cost/complexity, a heat pump water heater is a far superior option even if it isn't necessarily using 'free' energy from the sun. But, if you have the ~600w extra solar to power it, it sort of is anyway. So that's my vote.

Having said that i do have two large solar water heater panels (roughly 4x8ft) that i intend to implement at some point. But there would be a circulation pump pushing the water into my normal water heater tank. I have no plans to ever install a large water tank on my roof. :p
