Has anyone managed to get 4 gauge THWN wire to fit on LV6548 inverter?

I have a 20 foot run between my inverter and panel, I'm using two LV6548 inverters for a split phase setup. It looks like that would be ~54 amps for each separate wire run to the panel.

According to the charts I've seen online, 4 gauge seems to be the best choice here, and 6 gauge would be cutting it close.

I've heard the 4 gauge doesn't fit in the plugs of the LV6548 though, so what are my options here? Can I just thin one of the ends out by plucking some of the strands out, any better options?

This was my solution to fitting 4AWG THHN/THWN-2 in those smallish terminals.

Freshly stripped 4awg

10awg crimp die and hydraulic crimping tool.


Fits very well.
