Help with DC disconnect/breaker between panels and charge controller

I'm about to connect my 600W solar system (wired in series/parallel = 60V at 10A) to my 40A charge controller. I've determined a 15A fuse should be inserted between panels and CC. I'm wondering if a better option would be a DC 15A breaker that I could manually turn off if I wanted to shut the solar input off. Alternatively, I could insert 15A fuse in the line and add a DC disconnect switch. I'd like to put the switch or breaker box on the outside of my cabin near the panels if I go that route. Suggestions and sources for parts much appreciated as this is holding me up! Thanks.

Midnite solar mnpv combiners or mnpv6 disco. Great equipment, din mount breakers.

These make great ac dc 125 Amp sub panels for pv projects, combiner switch individually or all at once.

Check your panels spec for their max current you may need to fuse before combining and then again on the combined pv source conductor line home on one end or the other. It can all be done with the buses and lugs that come with the disco or combiner and have it all outside.

Those midnite boxes are nice however if you like money get some of these and throw them in your own box,

I use breakers only although I do think adding fuses for redundancy is always a good thing.

I am always tinkering with my system so I turn the fuses on and of constantly.
Said fuse, meant include overcurrent protection. A rack of those breakers in a pvc enclosure would be cheap and doable.

I agree that combiner box would be great but too pricey for this small, somewhat temporary system. Craig - what kind of box would you put the breaker you recommended in? Anything it will fit in that I can open easily? Is outside ok? Thanks so much!

I used this for my father it works well

I totally understand the costs, gotta start somewhere!

These are basicaly standard equipment in my installations. Invaluable and listed for the use*

When building for an inspected system and generally i have to be sure all equipment is listed. One way i source enclosures is listed as a machine panel enclosure. This allows all kinds of flexibility in design and without other direction amd in thread responses, i assume it to start amd then find out if its budget has to be integration of ato/atc fuse holders in a 2 gang outdoor outlet box with a switch, or just wirenuts in an empty kombucha bottle technology.
;)

I like the idea of the outdoor outlet box. It will be a while until the breaker come in so not sure what it will fit in.

I've learned that DC and AC breakers are not interchangeable but now I'm wondering if an AC switch on a 60V and 10A line would work in the interim. Or were you just kidding. I"m easily fooled!

I like the uxcell one. Will wait to see size of breaker. Thanks! (This is my first forum so I'm not sure where I'm suppose to post things.
