Some people have diode light source extreme intolerance. It just doesn't work looking at diode sourced screens.
Has anyone found alternatives or other ideas for using screens even if they lack modern screen dynamics..?
There exist the only incandescent monitor manufacturer at spectrumview.com I own two of them, one as incandescent bulb backlit for night and one as solar backlit during the day, I think this is exactly what you are looking for, Im pretty sure they are the only makers worldwide.
