Pallet of Silfab SL-380 HC form Signature Solar, Not Real Impressed...

I just opened and installed a pallet of these:

No shipping damage, but other issues/inconsistencies:
  1. Every single panel has been re-labeled. You can see where the old label was peeled off:

  2. One panel is missing a label all together. This same panel also has deep scratches in the back-sheet where it looks like they maybe reworked it and applied new terminal boxes?... You can also see remnants of a sharpie label saying "possible" something:

Silfab warranty:

"repair or replace the defective Product with a new or refurbished Product of equal or greater Pmax"


Other brands I looked up (e.g. REC) also mention refurbished.

Could be Silfab is raising cash by shipping out pallets of refurbished panels when customers order new.
If so, that hints at financial issues under the hood of the manufacturer.

That would certainly explain it.
Manufacturing error, reworked.

I could understand them not wanting to lose inventory due to labels or junction boxes installed incorrectly.
But the rework process scratching up backsheet is not what customers of new products expect.

The sloppy adhesive might knock a few percent off output, could still pass testing. Or do they test at laminate stage, before putting in frames?

Made in North America, not China; in this case, that could be reason behind inconsistent assembly quality.

I picked these because they fit the racking well and utilized the full length of the rails:

I am now questioning my decision...
 
12x4, 48 panels.

So all 48 panels have relabeling issues?

But only one or two have gasket/glazing issues and some writing/scratches?

The other 46 look mint minus the label issue?
