Question About EG4 18kpv Grid Connection

Having issues finding a definite answer. Is it possible to go straight from the meter to the 18kpv and then to the main panel?

Almost, there will be a whole house disconnect or grid breaker between the meter and 18k.

Awesome. I assumed I should have the PV disconnect, and rsd installed also. Is there any chance for export in this scenario? Do I even need to alert my power company?

With the right settings there shouldn't be any export.

With an 18kpv, there will likely be some export regardless of your settings. When a large load suddenly cuts off, the power has to go somewhere.
With 6000xp, not likely. The 6000xp is either on-grid (powering load and charging battery), or off-grid supplying load. The inverter does not seem to be ever connected to the grid, except to charge batteries (which is taking power, not pushing power).

18kpv: Probably. 6000xp: I can make the argument that it is no different than a battery charger to the grid.

With an 18kpv, there will likely be some export regardless of your settings.

Not correct.
In off-grid mode, it disconnects from the grid via relays but does still monitor the grid so that it stays synced.
If it needs the grid due to overload, it will close the relays and go into grid assist/bypass mode.

You’re operating in parallel even with zero export mode. This generally requires an interconnection agreement (interconnection does not imply export).

And with zero export there is going to be some possibility of export.
