refinishing fiberglass with GelCoat

Is there an alternative to GelCoat(60$) that isn't so pricey and isn't anymore toxic and works good for painting fiberglass stuff that has been thoroughly sanded..there would be a base coat of white on the fiberglass even after sanding..but it wouldn't be shiny and protective like fresh GelCoat is..
..Preferably a 1 coat thing....I thought there might be many boaters on this forum because boats often have solar..

Not to my knowledge. I've done quite a bit of work with that stuff in the past and I know of no other good substitutes. Its been a decade though so it's possible something new has come along.. probably just as stupidly expensive.
