Hi Everyone

Kindly assist. What is the maximum PV wattage input for Xantrex C60 PWM charge controller. The specification sheet only mentions max PV array open circuit voltage as 55VDC. I tried searching online but I can’t find anything.

Thanks

C60 is only good on 12/24V systems.

12V: 60A * 15V = 900W
24V: 60A * 30V = 1800W

As far as the maximum PV input current for over-paneling, keep it under 60A since this is a PWM controller, and it really can't be over-paneled.
Thanks Sunshine

A shop is selling them for a discount, they also have the C40. My inverter is 12V/220, my DC fridge is 12/24 so I thought it would be good to go for a C60 instead of a C40, the price difference is only equivalent US$15. Is a C40 better?

The C40 is a very useful controller for wind or hydro on 48V systems.

In your case, for 12V, the C60 is the better option due to the higher current.

While it says a limit of 55Voc, you still need to select "12V" panels with a Voc between 20 and 25V. This puts Vmp around 17-19V. They must be placed in parallel.

The total Isc of the array should be less than 60A.

If you select panels with higher voltage, you waste everything above battery voltage.
