I also have a submersible 1 hp well pump at 550 feet. There is no controller for it just a 30 amp breaker going to 10 ga wire buried to the well. How would a soft start be connected in this case?. What are you looking at in soft start models?. Thanks.
It has to go into bypass mode to charge the batteries from the utility, it can't charge and invert at the same time. I wondered this as well. If there is a way hopefully someone will chime in as I was hoping to do this as well..
"I think the NEC stipulates that the grounding conductor is to be run with the grounded conductor and presumably with the un-grounded conductor". What?. I am going to act like I didn't read that. Thanks a million, FilterGuy and smooth. I am going to wire it exactly as your 1st diagram that you...
You need to use the brown and brown/white wires only. I followed this video and it worked after I rewired and reset the battery dip switches correctly.
start with dip setting two and go up in order to other batteries.
Battery ID Dip Switches U= Up D=Down
1 UDDD reserved, start with two

Boy, if we could only put all of these good tips and tricks somewhere in one place to use as a reference guide. It's just luck if you come across them as it is now.
Problem solved. I re-installed the bonding screw in just one of the inverters and it all cleared up, I have steady 120V output on solar.
So, I guess those little rascals are important after all.
Thanks Todd.
Me as well, please. Can the neutrals come off the neutral bar in the breaker box or do they have to come straight from the generator and not connect/ tie in to the other neutrals
Mine does that. They will only draw the PV they need to charge the batteries. When my batteries showed two bars the PV was really coming in both inverters and when the batteries got to 4 bars soc the PV input from the two strings fell way off, looks like just enough to trickle charge. Run the...
Thanks, Adam. Obviously, I am new to Solar Assistant programming and you guys are a great resource as is your youtube channel. I just saw this graph under power settings, oh boy
These inverters will never accomplish this as the same components, MOSFETs are used for both charging and outputting and can't do both at the same time. I have heard of some people using an extra inverter as a battery charger only and as a backup unit. I may try this route.
Can you keep us updated, please?. Do we know what is different in the replacement inverters that are being sent out, if anything?. They seem to work out.
