you can buy good quality "preowned" solar panels at santan solar on there website.. just add dot com to santan solar to get them. They have some new overstock panels, some that have minor damage like the frame got bent or one panel scrapped against teh glass on another one making some marks that...
i use dielectric grease inside the connection on MC4,, put some on crimp and around the bottom area and on the rubber seal to help prevent driving water on the roof top RV panels. seems to have been working.. I popped one open a while back and no water inside the shell..
just ordered 4 230 ah batteries from Amy.. was told it was about 2 weeks to get to tx warehouse and then some days to me in NC.. seem the back log at ports is slowing stuff a bit.. but not in a big rush and this is still quicker than shipping from china. total price with paypal fees was...
Excellent video.. When i was in HVAC class in the 80's the roof mounted water solar heating systems were still in use from the Carter years. We did something along these lines but using 1/2 copper tubing, (it was much cheaper then) as it was the only good quality tubing we had at the time...
Great informative post on home solar for sure.. In the large solar array business it steady for the foreseeable future. Batteries are becoming more and more a part of the large solar farm to help offset the low output at night helping to keep the power supplied constant.. as for texas heat. get...
LOL.. yeah just test setup the little red wire..on the B terminal.. The cells tested at 3.28 each.. did not check on pins will have to do that next.. will try the JBD app as well to see if it will be better...
I did try the plug on my other JBD bms that is working fine and got one blue bar...
so i took your advice and asked for more info.. lets see how that goes.. in looking at the picture i did notice the difference on the labels as well.. some looked poorly photoshopped? to me.
so what is the biggest difference between these cell and the VariCore 3.2V cells.. the price for 4 -310 Ah vari core is 460.. for the shenzhen luyuan lifepo4 280 ah it like $672.. that a $200 dollar difference.. are they worth that big a difference..?? if so how, why..
So tried the xiaoxang app, (little elephant) and it now seem to be working??.. it look weird with nothing hooked up but the BMS so next stop of to put some wires on to BMS and put some volts to with the solar system..
I did Amy's US stock after having a order from china, ordered in aug for oct delivery, got canceled and refunded.. took a bit longer due to ships and such. but got them couple days ago 4 in a box with special foam containers. the terminals are not the best with the raised section.. would more...
I use oxgard on wire ends when doing crimps to prevent corrosion to the wire over time in the crimp.. i guess they conduct power as you dip the wire end in the material and use a small brush to cost inside of the fitting. after words I seal with heat shrink ..
that sounds like a lead acid battery charger.. if you use it,, i use a 3 stage boondocker 45 amp charger on my RV, only use it to charge the lithium when needed.. I keep mine unplugged 95-99% of the time only using when many days of low or no sun or under tree in RV park so the solar get little...
"shunts" are designed to measure flows like amps, volts etc, whereas the "BMS" is designed to protect.. high voltage, high amps, too cold etc... with both being referred to as "BMS" (battery monitor system or battery management system.. ) might need to refer to them as BMS1 for management...
So I added another battery 230 amp hour to my existing 230 amp hour set that's already wired I'm thinking if I put the black wires together since the neutrals are both on the same end of the battery now and then where the red wire comes across the terminal on the battery to the left just cut...
not an expert but i believe the general rule of thinking is all batteries be within the same or within a month of each other on date of manf. Older batteries lose capacity and will drag the whole system.. instead of adding more 100 ah go with a new set of 230 ah cells and use the same space or...
not sure if water/moisture or what it is. did not have a battery acid type smell that I could detect.. Have been exposed to BA and know what it smells like .. could be more of a case of moisture as they are in my daughters shed and the weather has been cold then hot etc and this area has some...
for no more than you need back up power would not a 8500 watt generator not do the job for a WHOLE lot less money than a bunch of new batteries..
I agree with george65.. I get a good 8500 watt genny which is what i used to power my whole house during ice storms with gas heat system, gas hot...
to further steves post,,
it got kicked ahead when reagan got elected. the solar panels on white house installed during jimmy carter removed.. That sent a BIG signal that the then GOP was not interested in solar and the big oil folks saw the light and the efforts of their million plus dollar...
how far can you extend the wire on bluetooth dongle on the JDS bms controllers?/ i need to put them up higher and est about 4 ft of wire needed.. I was just going to cut the wire and add the extra between plug and receiver.. same gauge or larger ?? I was going to use butt splice for teh most...
got a facebook ad for litium 100 ah batteries with 10 yr warrenty for 379 each.. wonder if they are good or not. might be time for a test to find out for sure..

Was hoping to find a low cost DC amp clamp or sensor with monitor that will record amp draw over a period of time up to like 7 days..
anything come to mind.. link if you have it..
was trying to figure a way to measure DC amp draw on a 12v refrigerator in RV over a period of days to see that normal amp draw is to make sure we have enough solar and lithium Ah's.. currently there is 560 watts on roof but only 20 amp CC and i have another 335 panel on top of pickup with...
How to top balance cells without a the DC adjustable power supply shown around. All i have access to is a solar charge controller and my standard battery charger at 50 amps. we live in RV so space is a premium and move about..
I got a bms delivered month or so ago and not able to check. Now when doing bench test I get this. Do not remember doing anything different on other units.
