I hope you don't mind me hanging out to watch what info comes out of this one? i'm sort of in the same boat. However, in my case i'm trying to learn how much of a hit my battery bank would take if i run my Keurig... it peaks at around 1500W when it heats up. I run a 24V system with a Battery...

I purchased this same unit at the start of August. I LOVE it!
I was at the camp for the first two weeks so i could monitor how it worked and it's limitations. No Solar panels. Just the generator to charge my 4x12V series/parralel AGM battery bank (24V 165Ah).
First thing... firmware...
Apologies for the multiple quotes in my previous posts... technical difficulties with my App in a low cell reception area... good news is my solar power system works! Lol

Just to be certain...
Battery A's + terminal to Batt B's + terminal;
Batt A's - terminal to Batt B's - terminal
Positive Lead from 12V charger to Batt A + terminal; Negative lead of 12VCharger to - terminal of Battery A OR Batt B?
I have a 24V inverter/charger (Samlex 2224) and 4x12v sealed AGM 82.5Ah, connected in series/parralel. Manufacturer recommends max charge 25amps. I'm planning to buy 2x270 watt 24V panels. If i understand correctly, i should get a 30amp mppt? I'm guessing i could set it to charge at max 25Amps...
Thanks for your Honest feedback Snoobler. I reaaly appreciate it! I have no doubt that there's probably a better battery out there that would meet my needs. There are probably as many opinions as there are batteries too? that being said, i had a great deal on the batteries and i'm still quite...
I have 4x 12V FIAMM FLX300 Batteries. I read somewhere that they are AGM and/or Gel... Does that make any sense? I'm totally new to this, currently researching before building my system. Are these considered Lead Acid Batteries? Thanks!
165 Ah total since 2x82.5 are in series and connected in parralel to another 2x82.5 in series.
Still have lots to learn and appreciate everyone's input!
Thanks
I just installed my SAMLEX EVO 2224 at my cabin. I have 4*12v batteries. I believed they were 75Ah but the sheet attached says 82.5. They are setup in a series/parallel configuration so i guess my system would be 165Ah.
At one point i was told that i should charge at no more than 20Amps. I...
Well you speak a language that i don't understand 100% BUT i will definately be looking for those key points you mention in my manual! Much appreciated!
This is different than equalization right? Pretty sure i read that these types of batteries shouldn't be charged in a four stage but just Bulk, absorption, float... makes sense?
Thanks a lot! I guess I wasn't 100% but your clarifications make total sense! Also, looks like i understood the concept but my math was off for the fridge part... my bad ;-)
Just signed up a few days ago, havent had much chance to browse yet but you'll be seeing me around asking lots of questions in the coming weeks. I'm looking at solar power as a source of energy for my cabin in NB, Canada. We go there on the weekends (year round) and sometimes up to a week. I...
So speaking of Voltage sag... my 24V AGM batterries went from 25.4V to below 24.5V when i fired up my Keurig. To brew two cups, the Wattage fluctuates between 1370Watts and 800Watts for approx 7-8mins. I have my low voltage alarm on my Samlex 2224 Inverter/generator set to 24.5V so this drop in...
My friend has 2x12V batteries connected in parallel. When i checked the voltage on each batterry, one is showing 12.0V, the other 14.8V and the system 26.9.
I think I know what his issue may be... he has a DC 12/24V fridge connected to one battery (yes... the one that reads 12V).
My system...
There shouldn't be any load on the Batteries since a transfer switch isolates the battery bank when the generator runs.
I noticed the manual you linked is a bit different than the one i received with my 2224. Your link refers to Firmware 0.78 for the Inverter/charger and 0.28 for the RC. My...
That's exactly the one (2224).
If you look at page 94 it explains that the absorption stage = Bulk stage x 10.
I was definitely in absorption stage. At least thats what the remote panel said;)
Very interesting thread... similar situation for me in New Brunswick, Canada. I have 4 12V Lead Acid AGM batteries. I don't have solar panels yet so i was hoping to charge my batteries with my generator. I want to hardwire an inverter to my breaker panel. Would it be possible ( or necessary) to...
Is it a big deal if i shut down my generator (stop charging ) during the absorption stage of the charging cycle?
I have a Samlex 2224 inverter charger and it automatically sets the absorption time of the cycle at 10times the length of the Bulk cycle. In other words, if it charges for 1 hour...
Charge both batteries before connecting the fridge?
He is running a 24V inverter charger so can he still connect in 12V parallel and charge that way?
Or, should he disconnect the Inverter charger altogether then connect the leads that are coming frome the charge controller to the batteries?
