I'm in southern New Jersey at the moment and the house was definitely rocking around when it hit. I immediately felt it as an earthquake having experienced two others in the past
  • Post in thread: Do I have a big array grounding problem here?

By running bare conductor you have reduced the problem. Not made it worse. The two points are still connected as per NEC
  • Post in thread: Taking the Plunge into DIY Battery

Hey 740GLE I can give you a link that connects you directly to my sales guy. PM coming your way... The cells I'm purchasing locally at Battery Hookup. Eve LF280K v3 and grade A. Lucky they are about a 25 mi drive for me at the moment.
  • Post in thread: Connector help!

Seplos is using that connector also and they sell connectors or connectors with cables attached.
  • Post in thread: VRM screen shots. Post them!

Q-Dog that screenshot shows about identical loss I would see on a 24v 3000w Multi with a light load. When my loads start approaching the 1500w to 1600w range the loss is a little over 100w or so. By rough calculation still in the range of 90% efficiency (approx). The OP in the low 70% range...
  • Post in thread: Off-Grid Victron System

Have some questions on re-configuring my setup. Paging @sunshine_eggo if available. I Just recently did all the firmware updates to my system. The system consists of a MultiPlus 24v 3000w, Smart Solar 250/100 and a Cerbo S. After the updates finished the system SOC disappeared. Prior to the...
  • Post in thread: Do I have a big array grounding problem here?

This is a good conversation...Thanks for your knowledge Starting off anyone who thinks they know electric understands your most important conductor in any AC circuit is the ground to provide a path for fault tripping. Now the ground additionally is connected to earth to provide a centerline...
  • Post in thread: Panel Orientation

Thanks Ampster for the reply I should clarify this system is completely off grid with generator backup. I considered going grid tie but the cost of running a service to my location and the crappy pay back rates here made my decision for no grid. This is a smallish 3.2 kw array and should handle...
  • Post in thread: Taking the Plunge into DIY Battery

Contemplating the next steps to get these up and running once I get my cells and put it together. I do not have a charger to top balance the cells and I'd rather not buy a benchtop power supply for a onetime operation and then having it laying around taking up space. Already own more junk than...
  • Post in thread: Off-Grid Victron System

Ran VEConfigure and apparently when the firmware updated it wiped out the settings and in the inverter section I had to check off to use the Multi for SOC and reenter the battery AH rating. The SOC calculation has been restored to the VRM portal. And is accurately sitting at 100 percent. The...
  • Post in thread: Can this be made to charge Ecoflow Delta 2 when battery is full. SmartSolar MPPT 75/15

Yes you can easily Connect the load terminals from the Victron to the XT60i input of the Delta2 via an on/off switch. Turn switch on when battery is full. Leave the battery connected to the SCC.

Thank You @Rednecktek This is exactly the type of info I was hoping to receive while working on this project (y)
  • Post in thread: New 48v solar power system - dc to dc charging

I would think about using a 120v AC inverter connected to your truck electrical system of the appropriate size and then just plug a 48v DC charger into that. Victron of coarse!
  • Post in thread: VRM screen shots. Post them!

SOC is calculated by the Multi and that data is passed to the Cerbo so you can see it in the VRM in most normal setups. But you can change the SOC calculations to be transmitted by other things such as a smart shunt if you choose. The Multi calculation is usually the best choice.
  • Post in thread: Taking the Plunge into DIY Battery

It is a Seplos BMS. It is passive balance at the moment. Figure if I wind up with balancing issues down the road a Neey could be added later if necessary. Just wondering if I will get some decent balance initially if I let it sit at float. I've read about the issues with the Seplos BMS v3 and...

So what we see here is about a 150w consumption there Mr. Q-Dog?
  • Post in thread: Off-Grid Victron System

Thanks Adam De Lay Kind of figured I need to run VEConfigure but I'll need to install that on my new computer. I did find the temp setting you show in remote console and changed it from C to F. VRM is still reporting in C. :fp2 Edit: I stand corrected. I was in another part of Remote Console...

  • Post in thread: Easton, PA DIY Solar Project!

As for panels I can refer you to a supplier not that far from you in Cinnaminson NJ who carries a good selection, is price competitive and you can pick them up yourself saving the shipping fees.
  • Post in thread: DIY 3.6kW bifacial ground mount system

The cells are going to be the Eve 280k. Each pack of three will provide about 7.168kwh to the system. Hoping it's good for about 3 days running with inclement weather. My power needs are modest overall. The ground mount will be in a wide open area facing any direction without shading, lucky on...

  • Post in thread: Off-Grid Victron System

That fixed it Thanks! May I ask one more question if you don't mind? Yesterday I upgraded my controller and had some imbalance going on with my batteries (12v series connected for 24v). I charged each battery separately to full and reconnected everything. Once I get into VEConfigure is there...

Mr. 42OhmsPA has found you a deal I think my supplier can't beat on those Q-Cells. Correction: meant the NE Solar I'm sorry. I will also send you info for supplier so you have options Batteries would depend on your needs and skill level and your wallet. As already mentioned Current Connected...

  • Post in thread: Charging an Eco Flow with external battery

Just took a look at the connectors I used for a solar cable and battery connection cable with ring terminals I made a few weeks ago. They came from Amazonian jungle market and are marked XT60H-F. Cost was 7 bucks for 10 pcs.
  • Post in thread: VRM screen shots. Post them!

Sorry but I'm not within 500 mi of my system right now and it's not online at this time. So can't grab a screen shot for you (I certainly would if I was there) Back last summer I spent a little time looking at the self consumption of the system particularly the Multi and thought all the numbers...
  • Post in thread: VRM screen shots. Post them!

Can you try turning off all loads except Cerbo with the inverter on and see if your idle load is within spec at about 10w? That efficiency number does seem way to high. Something is not accurately reporting or some other problem
