I almost flipped my tractor carrying a heavy load in the bucket. So I picked up suitcase weights but didn't want to mount them on the 3pt to make the tractor longer, as I want to keep it maneuverable.
So I mocked up a bracket, welded it, and hung hte weights. Looks like it was always there.
Finished clearing the area. Got my tiller ready last month and broke it out. Started right up, and hit that red clay hard. I'm going to need some fertilizer. Maybe something nitrogen based.
Shaved the cat today...
My wife has this cat, lucy, a long hair rag doll who she overfeeds. Lucy is a bit on the pudgy side now, and had matting on her sides, back, stomach and neck. She would brush her but brushing a cat against their will is not recommended. So she made an appointment...
Fence bought and installed. Chicken manure spread, plant food spread. Tiller had a horrible accident, it picked up a rock and locked up. That was fun.
Installed a new spigot. Tapped the washer's cold water supply. Used sharkbite for the first time. I was skeptical as hell, but no sweating...
I don't plan to ever use a fast charger, I plan to just leave it on a level 1 all the time. I work from home and sleep from home, so really the only time I drive is after hours. Over the past 4 months I've averaged 25 miles a day for driving, and 35 days i didn't drive at all. The largest...
Backhoe in the way, so it needed to move. It's a 1953 oliver 77 industrial. Haven't needed to move it since I dug the footers for my shop. New fuel filter, new fuel, new battery, half a can of starting fluid, tires inflated. It sank pretty well over the years so I had to rock it back and forth...
Ok I put it on the floor. There's no breaking a concrete slab. I am almost finished my battery room. I got the drywall up, I just need to mud, paint, and finish the floor, then build the racking.
2 weeks no power, no problem. Diesel generator sips fuel from a 500 gallon tank. Well pump does it's job, supplying with water. I'm on public sewer, but I'm on top of a mountain, so until the pipes fill up, it's not a problem for me, and it would be a problem for a lot of people before it was...
280ah cells are ~12lb, 16 of them is 195lb for cells alone, plus casing, plus bms, plus terminals. At minimum you're looking at 200lb. for a 280ah 48v pack. I would suspect a lot of people couldn't move 200lb.
This isn't a long term solution, I just wanted a place to put them so I could inspect them and check voltages.
Every cell is 3.27v, so I think that's good starting point. They grabbed random boxes off pallets, so it wasn't like they had them set aside and made sure they were matching. They...
I think I'm in for one. They're either fixed in a year and i 500hp 113kwh ev suv for under 40k when it's worth 80k. Or they're tits up and the hacking community takes off and it gets opened sourced.
I'm told that on a sunny day, it can add 8-10 miles of range. For the lifetime of my vehicle, approximately 2 weeks, I've added 76 miles of range.
I'll be watching this and see how fast it goes up. Right now it's parked in the sun and generating 63%.
Sure, it might be a gimmick. But it's a...
Not everyone wants to DIY, or is capable of DIY. But it's the same with everything.
I bet you bought your house. I built mine. Saved a bunch, and got everything exactly as I wanted. You probably bought your car, too. I DIY more than probably 99% of the people, does that mean everyone should DIY...
I do think the opposite will happen, a ban on solar once people have a significant lack of need for power companies. Or there will be a ban on systems they can't control.
My coop shed doesn't have power.
I haven't done it yet. I chose dc bulbs with a 12-48v range. I'm picking up a 240w panel on monday. Weather's been crappy, waiting for it to warm up at least a little.
We've all seen how large scale setup's and complicated setup's are achieved.
Lets see how easy and cheap a solar install can be that will produce meaningful results. The average house idles at 1000-2000w, only real consumption is from major appliances from microwaves, ovens, air fryers, etc. So...
I have a jaguar xkr and my wife has a jaguar e-pace, so I'm vaguely familiar with what jaguar is doing. I'm also not crazy about it. I don't think ICE is going anywhere any time soon, but at the same time, I wanted an EV just to try it out and have fun. But I wanted one that didn't suck, like...
I used these to replace ignition keys on two tractors so I have remote start. It's handy when it's 3f outside, I can prime the glow plugs, then start the tractor, then turn the ignition on, and it'll warm up before I go out and blow snow.
Where do you get that copper stock if you don't mind me asking.
I was thinking more along the lines of soemthing like this, but good:
