Actually, it can be rotate 360 degrees

“don’t depend on others for what you should be able to do yourself”. Like that one; thank you for that piece of advice
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

Yes. Actually I live in Port-au-Prince where things are crazy, controlled mostly by gangs. Desdunes is my mother’s hometown. Since she left the country, I enjoy going there with great risks. But I feel at peace there where insecurity is no issue. All my money went to rebuilding her house. So I...
  • Post in thread: Acceptable voltage difference in lead acid battery pack…

Well, I just picked up the inverter from my friend. I asked him to hook up the cables (6 awg). Looking forward to heading to the country to set everything up (still gonna need to hire a professional to solder the panels up there) Really no one knows about this brand (“Infinity”)?
  • Post in thread: Acceptable voltage difference in lead acid battery pack…

No I use 4/0 cables. I meant the output cables since the AC output is a direct connection
  • Post in thread: Getting a OVD error with my new lifepo4 solar setup

Just got that same issue trying my new setup from 12v to 24. Managed to fix it by using the mt50, switching (in control parameters) from 12v to 24. Maybe you could just set it to “Auto” to prevent any other upgrading in the future

Thank you so much Hedges. Gonna look for these options
  • Post in thread: Charging an inverter charger from another inverter

Well I run 2 systems : one, 12v with 2 225ah 6v lead acid batteries with a 2500 watts inverter; the other, 24v with 4 225ah 6v lead acid batteries with a 3000 watts inverter charger. I was wondering whether I could charge the inverter charger from the 2500 watts inverter, just for...
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

Very good thank you. Now I know that I don't need to buy another charge controller, since I'll switch anyway to 24V. I expected to buy a 24V inverter when I'd go 24V. Now, a doubt still remains about the parallel or series. I won't have much shading, and the way I intend to build the shed will...
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

Hello guys, I have now all the items to make my system work. The panel should be mounted yet but the guy I have contracted to weld it lied to me and never came. So I am using it by moving the panel according to the sun's direction. Anyway, that way I can get the most energy available by tracking...
  • Post in thread: Maximum solar energy harvested…

I don't know, maybe I am stubborn but I am still not convinced... And I don't pay for the tracker; it's been diyed. Anyways I don't run a really large system. So it works for me when I change the panels position (East-South-West) three times per day... Feel more free. And If ever I'd be out...
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

Okay I understand series is better to me in my case. I don't mind caring the system twice a day, once I can get the most of it when I am there in the countryside. I drew something to show how the shed is gonna supposed to be mounted. Any advice is welcome... Any recommendation on a low budget...
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

Now that I have a decent working system I would be interested in having a timer for my freezer. Any suggestion for one that can switch on and off then on and off again at a specified time? And how to hook up the timer to the freezer?
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

They gonna be facing the same directions

    Forgot to attach the file
  • Post in thread: Charging an inverter charger from another inverter

Thank you Cs1234. My case concerns the first scenario. I am pretty happy it’s possible but how could the 24v consume more AC than the 12v? How can I measure that and prevent any operation failure?
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

No cold weather here in the Caribbean (Haiti) but the Epever 40A I got can only handle 100V (92V at 25Celsius). So I can't use one charge controller for both panels anymore?
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

That's right: I must reconsider the build of the shed. I intended to get not only the most energy from the sun, but also the most protection from the thieves. They have a good taste for panels and can steal them easily even in very difficult mounting situations. And I go to the countryside at...

let the forum as is. just entice members to donate. if done transparently, you'd get enough to cover the site's dues. just my opinion
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

Okay I will use only one panel
  • Post in thread: Maximum solar energy harvested…

Well I get it that passive tracking would be the best option. However if on a budget, does “manually tracking” really pay off regarding more wattage or is it useless to make the structure rotative?
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

Lol I don't have a vehicle yet. And it's not too practical here. No way to make it invisible. There in the countryside, everyone knows almost everything: no way to hide the panel. Besides it's a huge one : one piece 500 watts. I think I will have to get a strongly welded structure. Also, the...
  • Post in thread: A little lost in my layout

Hi there. Should you disconnect the battery from the SCC while your panels are still connected? I don’t think you did it right. You should always disconnect the panels first. And when it gets dark, the SCC is in control. No need to bother. Just my beginner point of view
  • Post in thread: Charging an inverter charger from another inverter

Ah ok. No display on the 12v. The display circuit of the 24v has been recently blown (still don’t know what happened). So I better not try doing it
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

Hi there, I am quite new to solar energy and I live in a country where there is huge shortage of power. I decided to start gradually buying items to build my system since I am on very low budget. So, first, I got by chance a good inverter for an affordable price (2500 watts 12 volts AC Delco...
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

GXMnow thank you for such detailed info and quick reply. I gonna attach the full specs and an awful just taken pic of the panel for the sizing. Then I’ll come back for more clarification over your great explanation
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

Thank you snoobler. If I get it right, more amperage charge controller means more power from the system without affecting negatively the batteries or my inverter? If so Then I could still go for a 60 A mppt charge Controller?
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

Actually I am building the system for a spare little house in the countryside, that I intend to rebuild within the next 2 or 3 years. That’s why I bought the 500 watts panel for possible further expansion of consumption. So far I will only use my laptop, phones, 10000 power bank, maybe a printer...
  • Post in thread: Viable system?

Actually I know nothing about timers, neither relay. I think my SCC is equipped with relay (epever 60a). Any link to the timer to start with? I could manage to get it from the US since my mom lives there
