I'll bite. I'm retired and have plenty of time to chase a refund with my cc company and/or Aliexpress if it's not legit...
I had exactly the same thing happen with my LV6048 inverter. All of my LED shop lights flickered periodically, and for no apparent reason. Then I installed 2 LV6548s and the problem went away. I isolated and captured the problem on an oscilloscope trace - it's periodic noise on the output of...
I thought I'd share my results of my quest to implement a dedicated touchscreen displays on my home assistant setup around my house.
Yes, it was DAUNTING at first. Take a quick search at AliExpress for touchscreen, and you find way too many. They are everywhere. Plus you have to figure out how...
I took this to the extreme with dedicated touchscreens around my house... all the basic info I need to see things are working properly!
Rather than hijack this thread, I decided to dedicate a thread to showing how I did it...
I can confirm 85C +/- is the temp these inverters decide to take a holiday and shut down... my solar shed got to 106.9F inside so I put in an attic fan and cut 2 16x8 holes on the shady side of the bldg, and that seems to have helped a bunch.
good thing I just installed automatic transfer...
I finished this project and am quite pleased with the result. I keep the battery at around 65 degrees which is optimal. And using the least power to do so. I use 2 different temp sensors, one from the BMS via Solar Assistant, the secondary is a local Dallas sensor probe tied to the ESP32 (I'm...
So the battery vendor (ESS) really came through today. Their tech spent a couple hours on the phone with me and we upgraded the PACE bms firmware to the most recent. It was on 1.0.3, and the new version is 1.0.5. After a full discharge and charge, ALL readings look correct now.
An interesting...
Cracked the code = I figured out that with these specific batteries, the RS485 interconnect is only for the batteries to communicate with each other and then I found an off the shelf RS232 to usb cable (instead of creating one from scratch) that works with this battery to report all stats for...
I use two set points
This keeps my soc above 60% at all times during the evening (in case of a power outage) and grabs PV to charge on the last cycle in the AM as the sun comes up.
I also would like better info on home assistant. Especially since I have 3 inverters, and 2 different models.
Also being able to name the inverters would be helpful Instead of inverter #1/2/3, House, Shop, Well would be much better.
And there is definitely an issue with Pi4s when using...
FYI, the PID controller component in ESPHome is a very complete implementation and even includes an auto tune feature!
https://esphome.io/components/climate/pid.html
This will take my temp graph and turn it into something like this over time, ultimately creating a completely stable, single...
Im right there with you! And Node Red seems like a good platform for exactly this, I just haven't spent the time with it to really learn it yet. Seems like a good Winter project.
Well, I finally figured it Out... If you use the Mosquitto Broker for MQTT, you have to allow "Customize" changing it from False to True. Then add the folder per the SA instructions and create the config file in that directory. Hopefully this helps someone else.
From the SA docs:
MQTT...
The Solar production curve went from this yesterday:
To this today:
So that one crappy little 400w air conditioner right next to the inverter must have put some serious noise into the system...
I got a surprise call today from the PowerUp Distributor and his support tech. Ian at Watts247 set that up. To say I was shocked would be an understatement, but they want to fix this, so I'm all ears.
They have the data and are currently looking into why these batteries are incorrectly...
Some of us live in very cold climates and LifePO4 batteries don't do well below freezing. In fact, you can destroy your batteries by charging them when they're near 0 C. We have too much $ invested in our packs to not take good care of them.
I bought these heaters and they work great...
Btw, from Pierre at SA
"Hi Jeff
We have an upcoming improvement to show the correct output frequency and voltage instead of averaging it. Unfortunately the load percentage will still show an average across all inverters.
Kind regards
Pierre - SolarAssistant"
I actually never said it doesn't...
Good question. It may depend if you have both inverters direct connected. if it's via parallel connection, apparently not.
I'm still having trouble getting the 3rd inverter to be recognized by the direct connection. Sometimes it works, but mostly it doesn't. My Pi4 wouldn't work at all so Im...
Somting Wong with that price... I bought a pallet of 27 gigantic panels from Ian @watts247.com and shipping was $376, Las Vegas to Idaho.
And fwiw, not all "multimeters with an amp clamp" support measuring DC current. Buyer beware. Look at the specs closely. The vast majority of them only...
Yup, I completely own that. I should have put a giant X on that data. Kinda hard to be a mind reader on a website... sometimes I run too fast without thinking.
Yup, that was it. IP address. ?♂️?♂️
It's kind of shocking just how much crap we have to keep track of in our heads with all this gear! Solar assistant, Home assistant, Linux operating systems, inverters, networks, Unify Wifi networks, routers, dhcp tables, iOT idiosyncrasies, etc, etc...
Smal draw (5V 1A Power Supplies power them via USB-C), and yes, you can program everything about sleeping. I have an existing motion sensor in my kitchen, so when I move the display wakes up via a HA Automation. There are also extra pins on the ESP in the display that can be repurposed to hook...
I just finished a month long install. 2x LV6548s @240v that power my shop and 1 LV6048 @240v that powers my house. 4x LifePO4 batteries, 27 420w panels. man, this was a ton of work. I just estimated the hours spent for a buddy of mine. Not counting all the research, endless Will Prouse videos...
Dude... you ARE correct. on the charts screen, the navigation on menu stays at the top and should scroll. On both my iPhone and my iPad and my Pi screen. It is severely limiting.
now I get it!!!
