"the government" is not a single entity so thinking of it that way *may* get your brain into an infinite loop that can spiral toward insanity. We the people are a massive part of the government. The we the people/government from 1945 kept freedom alive while later in the late sixties it went...

  • Post in thread: Ryobe rm480e Lithium

Little late but on the topic. I got a cheap rm480e Ryobi riding mower a while back... I also got server rack batteries a while back. I eventually put the two together to see how it would go. Made a video (linking now). Similar problem with the startup. The eg4 battery, if you turned it on then...
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar

There is likely no functional utility in this question. To take "I wonder" and extrapolate "blame" is also of low benefit even for diagnostic purposes of trying to derive other potential meanings in whatever possible ways statements about sickness could have been meant in case the initial...
  • Post in thread: This Busbar config ok?? (Pic included)

While I get that by looking at it, it's severely oversized on the large lugs. The small ones provide a proper torque and there is lots of contact. I have larger ends but they are for 2/0 and they fit those large lugs but not the battery ?. It's worth noting the screws that are flush mounted on...
  • Post in thread: Is 48v the biggest bank I can get?

Guys, think like MacGuyver..... The freeking MPPTs (EDIT: MPPTs on our inverters) have up to 500v inputs.... hook up a 192v battery to that part of the system and call it good (obviously we would need to find an MPPT to then charge that battery) but seriously... its staring us right in the face...
  • Post in thread: Eg4 6500EX PDP, who is the parent mfg?

Hi all, title says it. Looking for where to buy the 6500ex PDP. I put in an order 40 days ago and was told they cant fulfill...... Today..... but I want the thing ?. Anyone know the parent company? Where can I find one? It would be the best. Please help if able tks.
  • Post in thread: No grid grounding/bonding

? The original statement you had was why I posed the question and resources I did initially. It's fascinating how lethal the grounding subject can be.
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar Upgrade Program 6500ex / 6000ex Shipping Date

    Thanks @TerRob and @SignatureSolarJess , you rock!
  • Post in thread: Eg4 6500EX PDP, who is the parent mfg?

It says so on the PDP thing as well now, the sunset thing. Perhaps I was the last (or one of the last) who was able to put in and order and then they didn't know they wouldn't have it for 40 days.. heh. This just highlights my laziness to get my system up and running.
  • Post in thread: Wiring help for 6kw panels to EG4 6500ex

I recommend Mike Holt's videos for some overview on this subject. A good one to start with is on YouTube titled "Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems, Equipment Grounding and Bonding, NEC 2020" - [690.43], (6min:23sec) it's a good place to hear from a number of professionals.
  • Post in thread: PV voltage on EG4 6500-EX-48

Thanks Adam and pvgirl. Copy all. I am also noticing there are calculations per NEC 690.7 for the temperatures, very cool. I think my problem this whole time is if you had a theoretically acceptable 16.2kw worth of panels hooked up it would force the power, but that's a pressure problem which is...
  • Post in thread: Anyone canning? What pressure cooker do you use?

I don't have canning advice but if you can stop by "tractor supply" they carry a fancy dehydrator (freez dryer?). It's between 2 to 3 k USD but it's similar to your topic of making food long lasting.
  • Post in thread: Morningstar TS-MPPT-60 post mortem

  • Post in thread: Just gonna sing Signature Solar's praises for a minute

They haven't failed yet, and I think they are in this for the right reasons. For that I hope they continue to succeed. Thanks for sharing this experience OP. The positivity is good. A while back I bought the 3kw inverters and the next day or week so they released the 6500EX, signature solar made...
  • Post in thread: 207kWh System... In 12V??? 😬

The dude in the red jacket is a doppelganger of "nomadic fanatic" on YouTube. I thought he started a different business there for a second. This system is majestic.....
  • Post in thread: 6500ex "AC" ground wire awg?

14:20~ timestamp on this video by will mentions not needing comms with batts.
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar

I don't think you are being to rigid. You mentioned not being upset yet, rarely does anger help unless its channeled appropriately. You likely already know this... but always worth mentioning. I wonder, we had a bout of sickness go around recently in my neck of the woods. A Covid-19 variant...
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar Upgrade Program 6500ex / 6000ex Shipping Date

Thanks terrob, but this is what they said and does not answer the question. It's so bizarre that there isn't a straight forward answer like, "only the inverter itself is what is required to be returned". Just an answer of what exactly needs to be returned would be nice, unless it's simply just...
  • Post in thread: This Busbar config ok?? (Pic included)

Looking into it, I can get 8ga 3/8" cable terminals so ima do that sooner than later. Man, I had not considered it that deeply because the contact is actually quite good, but this will just give that bit more contact and far more squeeze. Tks for sharing all the thoughts, all. I'll follow up...
  • Post in thread: California proposes “blatant seizure of property” in solar ruling

I must say, I grew up there and was amazed when my friends grandma nearly got her house taken. She lived in El paso, Texas. Property tax during the bubble in 08. I was like, "but it can't increase more than 2% per year". She was like, "what are you saying?". Later I realized, Prop 13 is a...

how bout being able to use a 5 thousand dollar tesla model three battery off ebay. thats around 70 bucks a kwh (sorry if math is way off). Take a 400 volt pack and boom. just hook it up
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar Upgrade Program 6500ex / 6000ex Shipping Date

Hey all just spent almost a half hour on this question today, lots of other time elsewhere; what all exactly is required to be sent back on this program? The terms are vague. I don't have the boxes anymore.... Or all of the bags of stuff. Have you completed the program, anyone? Thanks in...
  • Post in thread: California proposes “blatant seizure of property” in solar ruling

Do yourself a favor, if you are a homeowner, and just Google "prop 13". It's a thing that any state can do and keeps the government from taking your home. Then let your reps know to repeat that where you live... Unless , like I said, you feel the government deserves more money. Then leave it alone.
  • Post in thread: PV voltage on EG4 6500-EX-48

Yep yep, that's clear. NEC 690.7 was not properly applied, got it.
  • Post in thread: No grid grounding/bonding

Try to prevent electrical shock by providing a path to turn off/open the circuit = safe to touch, then that's that.
  • Post in thread: Eg4 6500EX PDP, who is the parent mfg?

Thanks. I see they have the same case for the inverter but I can't find the PDP, can you help by sharing a link or model number or..... Name? ? I feel silly I can't find it.
  • Post in thread: PV voltage on EG4 6500-EX-48

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it. it helps. If you are willing to provide a bit more feedback please do. 1) if answering the "why" here takes too much, I understand, but why just "lets say" shave 20% off voc? (is there a formal chart somewhere?--i will google this after my post to see if...
  • Post in thread: No grid grounding/bonding

This does not happen in a properly sized system (17:39-18:22) This is close to related to your post, "doesn't grounding bring everything to the same potential? NO" (19:00-19:20). Is the thing you mention not related myth 2 in the video? I think it is (36:00) It's just worth watching the...
