  • Post in thread: Guidance on Alibaba Trade Assurance, cells not shipped on time.

I had a similar issue with Seplos. They kept telling me the order was going to ship within a week twice and it never did. Once the shipping timer expired, I requested a refund and within 5 minutes Seplos responded saying they just gave the order to the forwarder, and then asked to revoke the...
  • Post in thread: Xiaoxiang BMS App Displaying Wrong Amp Hours

Correct. The app doesn't know the capacity of the cells, once you give it the proper Ah in Base Parameters - Nominal Capacity then it will display as say 200Ah. The correct State of Charge should calibrate itself after charging/discharging a few times.
  • Post in thread: Help With Growatt 3000TL 24 volt Install

Hello, I'm also new and I have a set up to finalize similar to yours but my experience is limited. Hopefully an experience person can help you (and me) out. A couple of things I would add are a fuse between the buck converter and the bus bar, and wire up a switch to turn on/off the Inverter of...

Get a Victron Orion 24/12 instead of those cheap Chinese converters. Big heatsink, fan and adjustable output voltage. Plus you are not limited to the small wires that come with the cheap converters.
  • Post in thread: Luyuan battery case

So my 4 16s cases with the JK Inverter BMS were delivered last Sunday. They are white color and have the JK touchscreen. Not a fan of how the screen mounts but it works. The only thing they forgot to add was enough screws to mount the BMS and the communication board. The new JK BMS was able to...
  • Post in thread: Xiaoxiang BMS App Displaying Wrong Amp Hours

Ideally you want to do a capacity test first to find the actual capacity of your cells. But if you skip this part it really doesn't take long for the BMS to show more accurate results. Any real life charge and discharge will get you there in no time. I would recommend doing a capacity test...
  • Post in thread: Xiaoxiang BMS App Displaying Wrong Amp Hours

Yes, you got it, but that setting will not protect your batteries from over discharging. You can set those parameters under Protection.
  • Post in thread: Help With Growatt 3000TL 24 volt Install

I was looking at that particular model before buying the 70amp version. I just didn't like the spade connectors so I went with the non isolated version with the screw terminals. You can find a 40amp version with screw terminals in other websites, not sure why Amazon doesn't sell it. To connect...
  • Post in thread: Luyuan battery case

I thought I did but couldn't find any! I can probably take some this coming Monday unless someone beats me to it. They use 4 standoffs that grab into the side of the display and a rosette washer with a long screw to put pressure at the back of the display and to the lid. It works but it isn't a...
  • Post in thread: Help With Growatt 3000TL 24 volt Install

Yes that is the unit I was talking about. Victron makes a similar 40amp version and is of course cheaper than the 70amp version. Sure the 70 amp version can future proof in case you need to add more loads, keep in mind you will have to replace the DC fuse block for a higher rated when that happens.
  • Post in thread: Seplos CAN BUS RS485 48v 200A 8S-16S BMS

This BMS looks to be the same one those stackable batteries like GyLL use. It has 2 ethernet ports for RS245 (third one optional for CAN), red dip switches and a row of 6 leds for capacity and status.
  • Post in thread: Help With Growatt 3000TL 24 volt Install

Your math is correct and yes it should work with the Growatt 3000tl. Ian from Watts247 has a wiki with more information on how to size up panels. He mentions "Rule of Thumb for North America, make sure your Solar Array Voltage (Voc) will be at least 25% less than the Maximum Voc for the MPPT...
  • Post in thread: Newpowa solar panels

I have a 50A 5th wheel, 6 used panels for 1700w total, 3 on the roof, 3 ground mounted. A Growatt 3000W 24v, 8s 280ah EVE cells. On an ideal day I can easily run the medium sized RV fridge until night, heat a 12 gallon electric 1450w water heater or make some espresso or use the microwave and...
  • Post in thread: MPP-SOLAR LV6548

That is what I thought but you never know what an inspector may say. I can easily see one saying it must comply with Rule 21 when there is no grid connection to begin with. Once the electric company gets back to me with the estimated price for a new service I will make the decision to either be...
  • Post in thread: Xiaoxiang BMS App Displaying Wrong Amp Hours

Did you update the capacity in the settings of the app?
  • Post in thread: Help With Growatt 3000TL 24 volt Install

4 series will put you way over Open Circuit Voltage of the Growatt. 4 parallel you will have a voltage too close to the minimum. I think your best option is 2s2p, but I'm no expert in this. The switch turns the inverter part on or off, but it is also how you first turn the unit on after...
  • Post in thread: Help With Growatt 3000TL 24 volt Install

I would go with the 40 amp version, a lot cheaper too. In my case, I bought the 70 amp version because my 5th wheel came with a 55 amp WFCO panel. A 50 amp version would have been good enough for me but Victron doesn't make them for whatever reason.
  • Post in thread: MPP-SOLAR LV6548

No, she just mentioned what I quoted above.
  • Post in thread: Overkill Solar vs JBD direct purchase

My Overkill BMS has the bluetooth issues, they are the exact same hardware as JBD so its expected. Overkill does offer some customization and real costumer support, although he is overwhelmed now so that isn't as good as it was before. Instead of waiting for Overkill restock I bought one from...
  • Post in thread: How to use the Lithium battery for Growatt 3000TL LVM-24p?

I also have 1 Growatt 3000 with 8s 280ah EVE, Overkill BMS. No BMS communication is needed. Also depends on which model you get, the one I have doesn't even have a BMS port!
  • Post in thread: Help With Growatt 3000TL 24 volt Install

You can wire up a remote switch for the Inverter part. Will Prowse did it in one of his videos, I think it was on a MPPSolar inverter but they are identical. For the second question I'm not too familiar with it but in my limited time with it I can turn off the inverter for it and the mppt...
  • Post in thread: Xiaoxiang BMS App Displaying Wrong Amp Hours

That is probably an issue with the wiring of the balance leads or the BMS itself. Check your crimped terminals, then see if the white JST connector at the BMS feels hot. Those JST crimps are a royal pain and can fail extremely easy, that is why they put a ton of white glue in them.
  • Post in thread: MPP-SOLAR LV6548

Not sure if this has been answered but is the LV6548 compliant with whatever California Rule 21 is? I know they are UL certified and I asked Peggy about Rule 21, she said she was looking into it but no response yet. What I'm trying to figure out is the cheapest but code compliant way to have an...
  • Post in thread: ~100kwh for 24/7 off grid home

Wow, I'm waiting to hear back from the utility company with their estimate to bring power to my yet to be built house. It's around 500 feet away, easement in place but not sure about transformer upgrade yet. Anything over $10,000 just doesn't make sense to pay an utility company anymore, also I...
  • Post in thread: Newpowa solar panels

Yes I was able to start 1 AC unit as long as I don't use any other high loads. I was afraid the surge would just trip the BMS (Overkill 8s 100A) but to me surprise it actually ran it without issues. This was with the fridge in AC mode and a LED TV on. The BMS app showed around -40 to 50amp load...
  • Post in thread: MPP-SOLAR LV6548

I actually asked Peggy about the LVX6048, her response was "We are sorry that LV 6548 is the only model that has UL certification ready at the moment , Not yet for LVX 6048 or LV 6048" The county said "All equipment shall be listed (UL) or by another recognized testing/listing agency" so as...
  • Post in thread: Cyboinverter model # CI-Mini–1200-H.

I saw it and looks interesting. Price is somewhere around $1200 and the ROI is 2-4 years according to Engineer775. The ROI claim seems way to short, he is probably comparing it to very old and very inefficient water heaters. There are probably good uses for it but I would just put extra panels...
  • Post in thread: Growatt3000 24v with Daly100A BMS unit settings and issues.

Just an advice regarding the firmware. I tried to flash my Growatt 24p and it failed right after the first part, a windows error popped out in my PC and I couldn't get rid of it unless I disconnected the USB cable. I tried other PCs with the same USB cable and they all failed. I borrowed someone...
