I'm using my excess power to heat water boiler, every single watt available, not more. But I'm on grid tied AC. Microcontroller reads consumption and adjust voltage regulator connected to heating elements every 5 second.
There are many ways of getting information needed from inverter or...
Lot of confusion here. Obviously you can't measure amps with "voltage tester". You can with multimeter that has amperometer, up to it's fused current range. You can not measure Impp without MPPT controller connected. So from open panel wiring you can only measure Isc short circuit current (in...
Why? He was looking for to use one 120W 12/24V panel. Common AC relays are rated for small DC voltages, normally 24-30V. It's even written on the relay body, for example "10A 250V AC / 30V DC"
Even if you don't "officially" connect it to grid, I would choose inverter that respects european standard (CEI0-21)for grid tie. Certified cinese inverters are actually not so bad at all. Goodwe, Sofar, Growatt, ZCS, Solis.... I personally haven't been using Victron, but looks like they have...
One can implement also @efficientPV:s system simplified. Lets say, you have one big boiler. Put three 1kW heating elements, only one with power controller and few relays. And voila' you have 3kW fully regulated dump load.
Like mentioned before, I run everything on AC. You with DC, remember to...
Since you have been doing lot of research and thinking, I'd like to hear your opinion. What are the pros and cons of 10 x micro inverter system vs string inverter of same capacity? Now 2024, excluding brands and local pricing etc.
PS. I hope your believe of Eur/Usd rate is not gonna happen any...
Try to make clear question, excluding everything else. What you have and what you want to know?
Connect unknown quantity of 5-panel series/parallel? stings to some "boxes"....
At freezing point your Voc would theoretically be around 25.5V so 6 in series is going slightly over Vmax. Probably they have put a little margin there and you would be ok. On the other hand, it's the only critical value in PV system.
Imp (NMOT) are typically -20% of STC, so 2 parallels would...
Would be useful to have a database how different grid meters actually count consumption... Anyway for whoever is having issues with different firmwares of sofar-tl-g3, I'm leaving a link to german forum where you will find all the fw from 3.3 to 4.2 and the changelog between them...
There are people, who put fuses, breakers and switches all over the wiring. I see every unnecessary connection as a potential failure point. Between a series string and inverter only switches (if not incorporated to inverter).
You are not clear, what are you trying to control. With your four options, your minisplit not for sure. For resistive load all your options are possible. Options 1 and 4 is the same thing. You want to control AC or DC?
You really don't have to modify xy6020l if you happen to have your string Vmax/Imax matching. Obviously you have to take care of the temperature control and safety valves separately, without arch suspension. My soldering skills are worst in this planet, would't even try to make your pritty board...
Do you mean Zero export doesn't work at all or just modbus communication of it doesn;t?
I'm currently on v.3.50 and I also need Zero Export function. It kind of works, but in certain situations (load) it becomes unreliable and sometimes export about 100w and sometimes starts limiting output even...
I would never do that! What's the whole point if you don't count the price. ROI. I wrote local price, because most of us are not from Netherlands.
Actually, I wrote that I don't think 10x micros are generally cheaper than comparable string inverter.
What's so special about Enphase wiring, you...
Yep, I tried also pulse skipping, in theory the best way to control power, no harmonics, no spikes... But in reality, energy meters don't understand that kind of regulation, it's unnatural to common electronics, and they go crazy. Also the grid meter sees 1 cycle in 1 cycle out.
Energy meters...
Yep, it's typically around 0.25%/'C.
Disconnecting for freezing days would eliminate the 0 'C 155V problem, but you would still have a lot of time at 10 'C, about 151V...
Either you believe there is margin, or you go with parallel. ;)
It is ridiculously wrong because when you measure open voltage, current is zero, so power is 0.
When you measure voltage and current at mppt, you get max power.
Obviously, your stupid panel doesn't know anything about that mppt and responds to your power draw either fulfilling it or with a...
Method that I wrote above WOULD work, you just didn't mention about zero export restriction. So of course it doesn't work.
In this case it's much easier to pull all the info from your inverter. I don't know Victron, but I'm 100% sure you can get what you need from it either with modbus wired...
90% of washing machines use triac controller, only newest DC motor washing machines and some inverter ones don't. Not for the heating resistor, for the motor speed control. You know from few turns/min when washing to 1200rpm when centrifuging
Hi, did you manage to solve your issue? Can you tell more about the changes in modbus registers? By the way, I have noticed that the software version my inverter outputs varies based on what country code I set. With "Cei0-21" I get v.3.5 and with "Central Europe" I get v1.0
