16 x 120ft rows of Irish Potatoes planted. And various other plants in the deer proof garden: 30 celery, 24 green cabbage, 24 red cabbage, 24 cauliflower, 24 Broccoli, 24 brussel sprouts, and 50 or so various pepper plants.

In 2023 you’ve got to be a special kind of stupid to fall for a gift card scam. /facepalm
  • Post in thread: What was your most interesting recent non solar project?

Yeah, with the sloped garden spot there, it's a bit of a handful. The rocky soil doesn't help either. But does save time laying out the rows. It has a two-disc attachment that creates a hill of soil over your row, but sadly, it wasn't working, so we had to cover the rows with hand tools...

  • Post in thread: Solar for poor people?

It's just another pay-for-votes program like the Obama phone back in the day.
  • Post in thread: Off-grid: illegal in Florida?

I would skip the permitted build and do a no permit build if it’s rural.
  • Post in thread: Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

I'm giving them till May, then will go ahead with the dual 10kva Quattro's I had originally planned.
  • Post in thread: Signature solar warranty department issues

Current Connected is selling some EG4 stuff now if you MUST go with the more expensive Eg4 stuff. Personally I can’t afford to buy the cheap EG4 stuff ?. Prefer to buy something once and not spend days of my time.
  • Post in thread: Have you had a Sol-Ark Failure?

It's what people did for hundreds and thousands of years before modern slavery (debt culture) became a thing. We have a sawmill so much of the cost is eliminated. Yes Generously speaking there is maybe 1 in 1000 contractors out there I would trust. Why pay more for shoddy workmanship when...
  • Post in thread: Victron is Over-priced Eurotrash. Why would anybody buy Victron over an AiO?

I suggest clicking Zwy profile and clicking ignore like I just did. 1 less troll :) Not worth even a glance at what someone says who is pissed they can't afford blue stuff. Best of luck to them and their Chineseium equipment. I hope it serves them well.
  • Post in thread: the rapidly changing inverter landscape

I still don't understand the aversion to weight with inverters, it's heavy, so get someone to help hang it. How often do you take your inverter on and off the wall, especially if it's not a chinesium inverter?
  • Post in thread: 207kWh System... In 12V??? 😬

While cheaper, I don’t think diy batteries are the right fit for this guy 😁
  • Post in thread: How can Current Connected improve?

Great video. I ordered a 48v forklift bulb, some alligator clips and a toggle switch. Plan to 3d print a little holder for the whole setup. Clip the clips on, flip the switch on…
  • Post in thread: What can we do for heat?

Or Wood heater, they make some nice small ones that burn clean. Also check on electric blankets, probably the lowest power use of any electric heating. Your place won’t be warm but you will be warm.
  • Post in thread: Cheap Horizontal Wind Turbine/MPPT 1 Year Results

Definitely can do that. I need to get before and after pictures before I start my upgrade. Plan is to add three more 2” pipes. It can accept 4 but currently only running one at 58psi. The upgrade will relocate down stream where it would be around 80psi.
  • Post in thread: Off-Grid Victron System

Yeah, these are real-life quality hardware, not EG4, Chinesium Beta Boxes :)
  • Post in thread: Has anybody used the Rosie inverter yet for prime time?

You mean like Eg4 and various other Chinesium inverters? ?
  • Post in thread: How can Current Connected improve?

I would be thrilled to death if I could get my Schneider XW Pro from CC, damn sure not getting it from SS, probably end up with AltE but hoping some Schneider stuff shows up on CC ??

  • Post in thread: Victron is Over-priced Eurotrash. Why would anybody buy Victron over an AiO?

WIth 4 Trophy 300Ah batteries and two 10kVa Quattro's I think I would need 2 Class-T in, the lynx shunt and 1 Lynx Distributor. Presuming the distributor could handle 2 Quattro's and one RS 450/200 or two RS 450/100. Two Class-T In and one M10 Distributor ordered. Guess it's time to get the...
  • Post in thread: Trace U2512 closet find

Cool find in guest room closet (grand father’s house that he built and never lived in). Appears to have been purchased 1995 from Kansas Wind Power. Dad has the exact unit purchased at the same time still in use alongside his Magnum 4448PAE. He uses it to charge a bank of 12x 6v FLA setup to...
  • Post in thread: Solar for poor people?

In this scenario, it's more of the "climate change" virtue signaling to get a warm fuzzy rise from a certain mental "demographic" in addition to the people getting solar.
  • Post in thread: Victron Multiplus II 5kVA

    Don't forget those inverters are 5,000KVA not 5,000W so you have 4,000W x 3 = 12,000W continuous at 25C, not 15,000W
  • Post in thread: Deciding between Victron, Enphase and possibly Sol-ark. Input?

Or just buy from Current Connected, they include 10yr warranty.
  • Post in thread: Signature Solar refusing to give me support regarding the growatt es5000 and autotransformer.... Is this normal?

I can understand why they wouldn’t want to give advice on the AC side of things. That’s something you’d research yourself or ask an electrician.
  • Post in thread: Texas grid close to edge tonight ?

It’s going to be a scorcher this weekend in the WNC mountains at 3,500ft, high temps 82° ?, I think our hugest temp so far this summer was 86°
  • Post in thread: Midnite Solar Announced their new 10kw AIO at Intersolar Today

Yes, and the Quattro price is pretty close to the Rosie. ($3,609 vs $3,300) But Current Connected has my order when I do pull the trigger.

  • Post in thread: What are the top 5 gotchas for going totally off grid

Worst advice I've ever heard on this forum or anywhere really lol We've been off grid since the mid 1990's and energy efficiency is king.
