The solar charge controller job to charge the batteries . It that simple I battery monitor would be helpful that way you know how much your drawing out of battery as opposed to what the SCC is putting in.

my system would be very similar to your. Now i know why i getting confused there seem to be two schools of thought on this.

On BMS the biggest problem we have is finding them with large wires. Put on twice as many large wires as needed!! make sure it has a low temp disconnect. many of us build they for rv . they can be exposed to below freezing temps.
