I am waiting for my new soldering iron. mIne died. I have some more connectors and with the correct ends so it will be a while since Amazon has slowed down. There may be a chance I wired the harness wrong. I'll fess up to what happened in the future.
I finally got an email with a tracking number. They waited until the batteries were almost here to let me know. I haven't experienced anything like this in my life. I can only guess they are jamming out battery units and aren't much into the office management side of things. Not a very good...
I guess this site was redone since my other inverter posts are gone. I still look for a decent 24v pure sine inverter, 2000 watts. i see nothing but Chinese inverters with bad reviews. Any recommendations?
Maast, yeah an 8s is whats needed for each of these BYD battery packs. The other issue is if the make of BMS is worth a crap. That's why I bring up the issue of the reliability of these units and what happens if they die. everybody is more than willing to admit that much of the Chinese stuff is...
I've already got one. I spent a few more bucks and bought a good one. I will be happy with a little extra power at night. If anything my issue is producing too much power. I have a diversion load set up to heat water with excess power. This helps keep a load on the wind gen. also.
I hope to...
I was reading this and thinking about my old extension cord with a timer going through a wall and to a 1000 watt electric heater I have in my van to keep windows snow and ice-free during the winter. I noticed the cord is finally falling apart after so many years.
BYD batteries on the way! I've mentioned in posts that I plan on bottom balancing and running no BMS. I think the push here for a BMS is great for their sales. Does everyone see their batteries running wild and out of balance? the cost and the idea of relying on these Chinese products make me...
I ended up buying an Outback FM60 for the solar. After much reading, I figured out there are no problems with hooking them both up to the battery together. They will both try to do what they can to charge the batteries correctly. The wind turbine will help. I like the idea of having charging...
I would like to think my charge controller can do all of what you talked about. It has a battery temp. probe and I don't see what would make my batteries get that hot. Plus two fans that will come on a certain temp. I have plans for a well-insulated battery compartment with a heat lamp that...
BMS or No BMS ? - 30 Month Update
Check out this video. I guess posting links is a problem for me but this takes you to the video on YouTube. I am not sure why my print is this large.
Here are the numbers from my voltmeter. then the two batteries hooked up separately to the BattGO. As I said before when I go off the pins everything is at 3.3 or close to it. Not anywhere close to this. I think the difference between the BattGO and the voltmeter is an issue with the BattGO...
Feel lucky, my batteries are somewhere out there. Going on six weeks now. I think you have to be patient with balancing. it's still my plan. I would like to find a low-cost trickle charger that has alligator clamps. Just think, your BDS is as good as these Chinese balancers. Chinese Inverters...
I still haven't received my batteries so I can only use my imagination. I am going to try and do as little to the batteries as possible. I sure hope someone solderers lead wires before me and posts pictures.
I am trying to figure out how I will use the stock fan, maybe backed up by a second fan...
I have read the pins from the connector end that goes into the BattGO. I guess I should check the other pins considering the money I have spent. I will update.
I bought a few of these. Something from one of those Obama boondoggles that went broke. Made in the USA! 158-watt Xunlight Made in USA Flexible Solar panels new! FIRE SALE! Free Shipping. 99.00 Off eBay.
Sorry, I'm not that good at...
I thought I read about using nonstranded wire for ac. The way I understand it stranded wire is for dc stuff. I was looking at the wires I took from a dead washing machine and all the wires are stranded and marked for 600v. I keep trying to learn more and I am curious if what I read on this is wrong.
I already have the lights and sockets and wire. I will make custom housings for the bubs. Mason jars with the lid screwed to the ceiling. Maybe a custom reflector.
I have a Reliable 2500 watt inverter that came with the two thin positive wires and two negative wires. There are no markings on them and I'm wondering if Making #6 wire cables would be better than what came with the inverter? Have some #6 and the right ends.
The BattGO is crap. I have the two 24 BYD batteries disconnected and checked each 8s battery than connected them both back together. The numbers off the pins match on both batteries. I trust the voltmeters numbers. I used the stock leads and used an adapter to hook up the BattGO.
I am planning on almost 500 watts solar(48v) Possible 95 volts with these amorphous panels. at 15amps feeding an MPPT. I have not bought the MPPT yet. I also will be feeding 48v volts from a 400 watt turbine. I am not sure what it will do power-wise, 400watts, likely 200watts Through a Schneider...
I wish I could have seen how they were originally mounted. I also noticed that if you look up BYD Batteries on YouTube there seems like more BYD videos than a while back. Yes, The strength of the unit is a concern when putting the one atop the other. I was trying to judge if being stacked on was...
