I feel like there no factor for poor weather. I think you should consider at least 4 days of battery with no charge to ensure you are online for the majority of the time.
I second that renogy customer support is absolutely rubbish. I also would not purchase from them again purely on this factor.
(FYI - and there renogy rover Li 40 controller is $hithouse as well).
Hi all
is anyone feeling like educating me?
I have a Daly bms, but the manuals don’t explain the settings and exactly what they do / affect. I can’t find anything else in the forums similar.
I’d just like to develop a deeper understanding of my system for future knowledge and would appreciate...
This has been such a great thread to follow.
I was going to ask Steve why he though another scc wasn’t necessary, but you’ve answer that for me solar queen.
I’m voting for going 24v and a new inverter. It really seems like the installer missed some basics here. Send him an email with a link...
Thanks. and to answer your previous logistics thoughts. Most here accept there is a shipping cost and build it into their calculations.
Quality and value is the foremost priority for many.
are you suggesting something like

directly onto the battery, and having the fuse holder hanging off it?
Ill answer question 3 and 4.
3. 24V inverter & midnite 250. Midnite can charge 62amps at 24v each. So if you had 2 of them you'd be producing 124amps total. 124ax24v = 2976w. So you would be using all of your panels power.
The inverter size it totally up to you. It depends how much power the...
Hi all
I’m looking for (but can’t find) a good guide to understanding scc settings.
i.e. high voltage disconnect
Charge limit voltage
Equalise charge voltage
Boost charge voltage
Float voltage
Boost charge return
Over disc return volt
Low voltage alarm
Over disconnect volt
Etc
etc
I’d like...
Update
I really missed the obvious in the all in one Install.
problem is solved byshore power - direct to all in 1 - charger. all in one - switchboard. It does it bypassing automatically and everything will work.
Also means no live power to the external plug (very good point).
been and...
I did prove it to them, and my support got escalated, proved it to them, who passed me to the Asia pacific region sales support, who didn’t accept it and escalated it back to tech support. In the end I just gave up.
I had a battery monitor showing the amps, and a clamp meter confirming it, verse...
your spot on. i just need the driver and software (which i think i has) to make it all work.
I am trying it all again now :)
thanks again. ill let everyone know how it goes.
They pull equally from each battery so that’s why it doubles and the bms isn’t an issue.
Per bobs post just check the cables and connectors are the correct rating for 200amp.
Yet the aus government knocked back The 4th telco merge because they didn’t trust that Huawei equipment was ‘in Australia’s best interests’ due to perceived backdoors built into the code allowing remote exploits. Everything comes with a price tag, sometimes cheap is not what it seems.
Not sure if this helps now. I asked them after I asked you, they sent me a link i couldnt find elsewhere. They have both wireless and wired controllers.
Here an example (i was only after 2500w). https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000785699268.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.11.5ecd300aAp76p9

Ah Cool, i follow now. How do you ensure a good connection between the busbar and battery, do you use any kind of lubrication to ensure a better electrical connection?
are you using stainless stud washer and nuts
Hey not sure how useful this is, it I prefer instant gas hot water, we use a gas over, gas grill, gas cooktops. I try to run a 12v van except for the necessary 240v (aus) appliances like laptops. Gas is great!
thanks DZl
I didn’t show the bms for simplicity. It’s a Daly 300amp. Bit of a beast, bigger than I expected.
I think a breakers replacing the 2 60amps Fuses is a great idea.
I’ll lease the fuse though and the battery isolator. Prefer this setup for the critical high Amps load.
Really... that’s sweet.
I also have a backup generator even in the caravan. My advise is to work out your loads and what you want to store etc. but be okay with the idea that if you run a gamer story one of twice a month to recharge the batteries that’s a okay. May be the difference between...
i havdnt seen the diagram, but now i have.
That is wired in 2 strings, of 3 panels in series. the voc will be around 63v. and will be fine for the rover. (which was your original question).
The only thing Id suggest is using different brackets. I use a bracket on my caravan which just glues...
