Automatic isolation switch (200 amp) for AC Coupled PV setup

Thank you, @DIYrich. NC contactor is what I was looking at. Something like this. Is that what you are suggesting (that is, describing how these contractors work, through 24v power supply to magnetically keep contacts closed)? If so, would you have a reliable contactor recommendation for US grid...

Automatic isolation switch (200 amp) for AC Coupled PV setup

Is there a 200a 230VAC automatic isolation switch that can be used in US? An automatic transfer switch, especially for generators, seems over-engineered for this purpose when all that is needed is magnetic relay type of switch that will cut off the grid supply during power outage (by being...

    Question about chassis grounding

Nope, stationary. I suspect my interpretation of block diagram is correct (will find out after I have the inverter in hand and am able to ilook at it). That is, the chassis ground is connected to AC input ground via metal chassis and so, can handle 600A current flow.

    Question about chassis grounding

For Victron Quattro, Chassis ground is connected to AC Input ground - I inferred this from the system schematics here where DC ground for the battery is connected to AC ground at a single point (as recommended in grounding faq posted in this forum) via chassis ground. I have a question about...

Question about autotransformer setup with quattro

Thanks for explaining your take on the relay. Yep, a neutral bonded to ground for stationary application will be much simpler than a ground relay (perhaps a DIP switch or some kind of user override via a screw) - I had similar thought about this over-complication of natural and ground relay...

Question about autotransformer setup with quattro

I have ordered Victron 100A AT but not in hand yet. I am doing this for my sister's grid-tie solar setup. From what I know, there is not much load imbalance - the house consumes max 20Kw or so as power (mostly 240v appliances), but like 35Kwh average daily energy usage over the year (with peak...

Question about autotransformer setup with quattro

Your mention of neutral power will make sense to me (from the basics I know). Then my schematic is invalid because it assumes only line resistance, not induction. I will think about it some more. I do have the schematics (including relays inside - as documented by Victron) as well but perhaps...

Question about autotransformer setup with quattro

I am cross-posting it from victron energy forum. Will appreciate help with it. Details below: Let us say we have ac coupled PV grid-tie setup with Quattro/Multiplus (i.e. grid backup) - to keep it simple, only AC out1 in Quattro outputs is in use. In such setup, the PV output is also routed to...
