  • Post in thread: Caution Before Purchasing Victron from XYZ Distributor!

If you are so convinced that you are being treated in an unlawful manner why not use your new found consumer protection laws knowledge and take some positive action elsewhere, you clearly aren't being offered a solution that meets with your satisfaction.
  • Post in thread: A.R.E. wind turbine

Are you able to carry out a few basic tests ? The first being from the output of the rectifier/DC input to the windy boy ?
  • Post in thread: Can I select a close/matching charging voltage as the inverter does not state Lifepo4

... you appear to be transfixed on finding a inverter capable of handling the inrush current "issue" rather than negating the "issue" .... I'm not sure why
  • Post in thread: Have I got this right? (wind turbine)

"Proven (apart from the 15kW) (now Kingspan)" I'm not going to waste my time proving your opinion to be incorrect, your WT knowledge is very obviously derived from Google. https://www.france24.com/en/tv-shows/down-to-earth/20211126-wind-and-water-orkney-s-island-powerhouse

  • Post in thread: Alternative use for redundant solar panels

The old Dimplex storage heaters make fantastic dump loads, the 800w versions are small enough to be hidden almost anywhere. A few smarts sockets + Venus large + a few hours of simple coding and you'll have an all electric central heating system, add an energy meter inline with the incoming tails...

The cost of the amazon one doesn't concern you ?
  • Post in thread: Populating AC Input & AC Loads section of my Venus/Cerbo GX web page sans Victron Inverter

There's a list of compatible energy meters, that'll (via USB/RS485) talk to Venus and populate that field. ABB and Carlo Cavazzi are the manufacturers, often found on ebay for very little money.

Dala has done this, but with a Fronius Gen 24 - it works.

  • Post in thread: Drop-in car battery DIY?

I'm not disagreeing, my opinion is that many folks aren't aware of what a quality BMS can provide in terms of control, data and stability, I disagree with the "default advice" but I'm long enough in the tooth to recognise that folks seem to enjoy doing what the off grid garage chap seems to do...

  • Post in thread: Drop-in car battery DIY?

You've either deliberately, or accidently misunderstood my opinion, I'm certainly not recommending a "BMS" that feature FETs passing the full battery current. I'll acknowledge that the majority of folks here seem to prefer components, often called battery managements systems, that have an...

  • Post in thread: Drop-in car battery DIY?

Nope, not a Batrium/Elitist at all, we've used a lot of quality equipment over the years, SMA, Schneider could equally have been added to a list of preferred manufacturers that are well proven.

The details of this should have been provided for within the conveyancing process. The resolution of your irritating issue lays primarily with the previous property owner who will need to declare an ownership change to the current FiT provider. The previous owner may likely still be receiving...

I hope this means there will be some 800v and above MPPT chargers being released soon.
  • Post in thread: Drop-in car battery DIY?

As i've previously stated, in the early days the miniscule husband, wife and a couple of mates company that was Batrium was selling products designed for folks who know what they were doing, we didn't really need their help, but their general response, or lack of it, when we pointed out...

  • Post in thread: How important is the cut-off current when top balancing or capacity testing cells?

Do some reading around the topic of tail current, you absolutely no not want to be ceasing charge based on either a voltage or a period of time.
  • Post in thread: Victron support?

There's a list of Victron distributors on their website, talk to whoever is nearest to you. I'm assuming you've figured out that https://shopbluepower.com/ is likely the distributor behind the Amazon facade ?
