  • Post in thread: Snowflakes, victims and "wo is me" mentality..... great video by our fearless leader.

Funny, I didn't take her comments as blaming immigrants as much as agreeing with Will about the snowflakes. In all honesty his video this am provoked lots of thoughts on the subject from me as well. I think we have fallen behind China but perhaps I blame other reasons for that. US companies...
  • Post in thread: How can I wire these 4 series strings to my 6000XP?

To all, Chriski, Yabert and Timselectric, THANKS!!!
  • Post in thread: Crimpers-buy once; cry once

I bought one like this almost 2 years ago and so far so good. Was $38.59 but not in stock on AMZN anymore. Over 100 crimps so far mostly 1/0 to 4 AWG I'm cheap so I tried it....still works? PENSON CAYQK007010 Hydraulic Wire Battery Cable Lug Terminal Crimper Crimping Tool, 9 Dies, 10 Ton
  • Post in thread: Is 100 Amp BMS ok to add to?

I'm guessing you mean to "Top them all off on the charger" and then tie them together in Parallel first for half a day or so to equalize?
  • Post in thread: EG4 LifePower4 battery refuses to charge beyond 64%

Hi Jess, I too have a LL V2 and someone in Tech support at SS, told me to put the first dip switch on and the rest off. Can you confirm for me? I'm using it with a EG4 3K
  • Post in thread: EG4 6500 EX48

Thanks, I found it in the settings: harder to do when you get old as a goat!!
  • Post in thread: Battery system w/o Solar for Island cottage questions.

I just pulled the switch and just bought 2 Ampere Time 200 AH LiFePO4 for $1528 delivered through Will's link. I am now looking for an all in one. The panels won't work now as I have no place to put them, too much construction activity. I will be buying them in a year or two. Yes for sure I am...
  • Post in thread: 1/0 Aluminum wire or 2 AWG, I have both. Why not?

I would have to fly it back to the states as we have no recycling where we are in the Bahamas on a small island of 1000 people
  • Post in thread: Second EG4 3K or EG4 6000 XP

I have seen that, that's what started me to change my mind about the 2nd 3K. Then I think, what if I lose 1--3K to a breakdown, I would still have 110V from the other....
  • Post in thread: How can I wire these 4 series strings to my 6000XP?

Thank you Obi Wan, I wish I could repay you somehow....
  • Post in thread: Is this a great deal on LiFePO4 batteries? IDK for sure so please tell me...

Is that a long time to charge? The other thing is I doubt my draw would ever exceed 1000 watts. Possibly if I had both of my refrigerators start at once, they have a starting draw of 705 watts. When you mention I am limited to 1200 watts of inverted AC, do you mean when charging? Sorry for all...
  • Post in thread: [Deleted] Misleading wire size chart

[Original Post Deleted] Redirecting to this post on the difference between voltage drop and ampacity and why both matter, and this pair of articles by West marine and Blue Sea Systems on wiring basics, ampacity, and voltage drop.
  • Post in thread: [Deleted] Misleading wire size chart

OMG, I am so sorry, I thought it looked great, thanks for the correction. I'll take it down right away
  • Post in thread: Can I leave this connected for extended periods w/o supervision? Progressive Dynamics 12V 45-Amp Battery Charger

Actually, I should've said battery charge protection controller, so I can adjust the on and off voltage as time2roll suggested in an earlier post. It seems to make sense to me, just worried about a potential failure of one more thing added to my setup.
  • Post in thread: Battery system w/o Solar for Island cottage questions.

I guess I'm dumb then as I thought 200 x 24=4800? Please forgive me but I'm missing it
  • Post in thread: Snowflakes, victims and "wo is me" mentality..... great video by our fearless leader.

Better to piss a snowflake off and not "piss on it" as it would melt said snowflake...just saying
  • Post in thread: Battery system w/o Solar for Island cottage questions.

I just want to say Big Thanks to all for helping me understand this so much better than I did last week. I still have so many questions, I hope you guys don't get sick of them.
  • Post in thread: Second EG4 3K or EG4 6000 XP

Thank you all, or is it Y'all ?
  • Post in thread: EG4 6500 EX48

    Thanks you all!!

    Thanks, because I would've!
  • Post in thread: Can I leave this connected for extended periods w/o supervision? Progressive Dynamics 12V 45-Amp Battery Charger

Hi Folks, I've put together a backup battery power cart with 4 x 12V-200 amp Ampere Time LiFePo4 batteries. I have this converter/charger and I want to run my refrigerator, freezer and wifi network when I'm away for weeks or even months off the batteries, then have the converter/charger recharge...
  • Post in thread: Can I exceed 500 V on EG4 3KW?

That's an understatement! Thanks, I have a lot to learn.... Thanks for the input, much appreciated. OK, Do you (or anyone else) know if there's a economical way to do this (with optimizers or seperate charge controllers?) I thought by mounting them in different directions, they would all get...
  • Post in thread: Battery system w/o Solar for Island cottage questions.

First of all, thank you all for the input. I do have a Honda I2200 and just don't want to have it running at night as it would be sooo noticeable there! It's pretty quiet and we like it that way:) I think we go at least 6-8 times a year, sometimes for 2 weeks and sometimes for 2 months. (Not...
  • Post in thread: Can I leave this connected for extended periods w/o supervision? Progressive Dynamics 12V 45-Amp Battery Charger

I have an email into PD asking what's what!
  • Post in thread: Is this a safe choice for a LiFePO4 charger?

Thanks, I hear you. It's just I ran out of time and filtering through all of the input could've taken months more which I didn't have. Ended up buying this after I sifted through all of the comments. I'm pretty sure it'll do the job for now, if it's even needed. Maybe the grid is prefect there...
  • Post in thread: Deye 8k 120/240 location The Bahamas

I'm curious as I'm looking for an inverter and I'm in The Bahamas. Can you tell me more about it. I'm not familiar.
  • Post in thread: EG4 6500 EX48

Can anyone tell me if the EG4 6500 EX48 will allow me to use Solar first, Grid second and Batteries third? I need my batteries for grid down only. Thx
  • Post in thread: Best $1500 option for 4000 watt hours of battery power? Help......I'm getting very lost in this.

Someone else recommended Chins Lithium. Seem to be cheaper priced, wonder if it's because they're cheaply made?
  • Post in thread: How can I wire these 4 series strings to my 6000XP?

I'm not sure why, but I was under the impression that when I joined the strings, the one putting out the least current would drag the other string down? Can you recommend a combiner box that would be right for this? Also, could I add more panels (I have 30), facing any way, and just run them...
  • Post in thread: Is 100 Amp BMS ok to add to?

Hi Folks, I've just set up a power cart with 2 Ampere time 200 AH 12V Lithium batteries. It worked so nice when I had a power outage yesterday I've decided to run the gamut and want to buy 2 more batteries and panels and an all in one and run my house off the sun NOW!!! I want to buy 2 more of...
