EG4 18kPV Q+A general thread

I think it's alive! My BMS limit charge rate went from 100A to 200A like it should! The second battery exists!

SOLUTION POSSIBILITIES: (because my scientific method sucks and I made two changes at once instead of one change at a time)

1) I switched the RS485 protocol to a completely incorrect protocol on both batteries. I made sure the CAN setting was the same EG4/LUX on both batteries.
2) I think this one is more likely....I turned the "new" powerpro with newer firmware to the "master" and ran the ethernet cable from here to the inverter. I turned the old Powerpro with old firmware to the "slave." Green BAT COM cable between the two in the BAT COM ports. - This is confirmed the fix.

One of those two things should work for anyone that runs into this problem in the future. I'm going to stop being a slacker and test between the two theories right now.

EDIT: #2 is the confirmed fix. Looking to be firmware related on the old PowerPro.

Thank you for the update.

Just noticed that AC coupling now shows up on my graph! Super cool!

I would still love an AC coupling "solar yield" section on the front page...but all of these updates are awesome!

Keep up the good work!

Question: If you have no PV arrays connected to mppt inputs PV2 and PV3, why do they display a voltage being measured?

I have noticed that after my battery is 100%. My 18Kpv cycles from grid export to grid import about 12 times a day. But it does not always show up on the EG4 monitoring website because the event is within the 5 minute window. I think its possible that the battery is triggering this event. Is there anyway to fix this?

What sized wire is needed to run from the main feeder to the inverter and back over ~85 ft? 4/0 aluminum for the hot, but how about for the neutral and ground?

Also, I'd still love wiring diagrams for 2 inverters on a 2 x 200 amp home.

you would set them up independently. For example 2 batteries per inverter. PV would just split between the 2. Each one goes to a 200 amp panel.

There are so many was to do it. This is prob cheapest and fastest.

If you wanted to combine the 200 amp loads then you would parallel the inverters that’s the key point on paralleling
