Solar Sovereign -- Any experience?

Thank you for the confirmations @Ruralbrewer and @wildbillpdx. One more data point from me for the community. I ordered two SPAN panels from Solar Sovereign on July 19th, and they arrived on July 27th. Great price and shipment experience. I will report back once I install and confirm the quality of the panels.

Thanks Ben! Hey Guys, I just found this forum nice to meet you all! I recommend both Signature Solar and Solar Sovereign for all EG4 products :D

I am very young, but I wanted to start a company helping people get Solar affordably when I figured out half of these "installation companies" or all a big pyramid scheme getting people locked into 25 year loans with solar that's super overpriced!

If you guys have any EG4 related questions/solar feel free to email me @ ashton@solarsovereign.com!

@Ashton Rakoske I'm within days of making my final decision on 30kwh of batteries. I'm contemplating a few different brands. If I buy the EG4 batteries from Solar Sovereign, who do I go to for tech support / warranty? Solar Sovereign or Signature Solar? As @BenFromSignatureSolar indicated, you are trying to break into the solar game. If it turns out unsuccessful and you exit the business, will Signature Solar cover any issues that might arise from the EG4 batteries years down the line?

There was a thread that if you didn't register the eg4 batteries with SS the warranty was shorter or voided or something. I don't remember exact what it was. How does that work if you buy an eg4 battery from another vendor? Is it an eg4 warranty or an SS one?

EG4 holds warranty

Hey JWLV, I'm sure you've made your decision already as this post is a few months old now, but nonetheless this is an important question to answer.

As James from Signature Solar stated, EG4 does hold the warranty. Solar Sovereign, is merely a distributor for all of these brands. We do not manufacture any brands but are authorized distributors instead. For tech support and warranty, you can either directly contact the manufacturer, or even Solar Sovereign, as every member of the team, even those not involved with sales/customer support, is knowledgeable on the subject of solar.

Let's say Solar Sovereign turns out to bee unsuccessful in the long run, the warranty that you have from the manufacturer of any product you purchase will cover any issues that might arise from the EG4 batteries years down the line.

I had the same trepidation as wildbillpdx, but after doing further research I called in & spoke with Jared at Solar Sovereign. After asking around for further details I was told that my order is coming from Signature Solar. Jared was spot on (it was a large order comprising of many 0s, spanning several payment methods) and took care of the details. Very cool guy! Expecting order to arrive within 2 weeks.

Just wanted to follow up with my experience on the 18kPV I ordered from Solar Sovereign. Jared Quinn was very helpful to chat with for a few questions I had beforehand. The order was processed and shipped quickly which I appreciated.

When it arrived I noticed it was shipped directly from Signature Solar. Unfortunately there was some damage to the unit during shipping. It wasn't apparent when I checked inside the box when it was delivered by UPS. The top of the unit had a big dent in it, but it was only visible after I removed it fully from the box a few days later. The metal on the top was pressed into the heat sink fins inside and caused a pretty large gap. With how how solid the 18kPV feels it must have been a pretty large impact.

When I reached out to Solar Sovereign they got in touch with Signature Solar and they said it was "only cosmetic damage" but also that my unit "could no longer be used outside." Doesn't sound like purely cosmetic with that stipulation. They said that opening the unit to bend back the metal would void the warranty. They said I could take a $60 partial refund for the damage or pay to ship it back. They never specified what the return shipping cost would be though, Jared was unsure. But neither option made me very excited. I opted for the partial "refund" and figured that if I had any functional issues I'd deal with it and the warranty at that point.

I'd say overall I liked being able to quickly chat with Solar Sovereign through their website but when I had issues it became a game of telephone with them reaching out to Signature Solar and then passing messages back and forth. Which ended up being much slower than calling Signature Solar directly would have been.

Not sure which side came up with the $60 figure but that was a little disappointing given the nearly $6k price tag and the only other alternative was to pay myself to ship it back.

Hi Spencer,

I am so sorry to hear about this. I know you purchased through Solar Sovereign, however if you'd like to, you can reach out to me directly at engagement@signaturesolar.com, I'd like to get some details about this.

The portions of cardboard box that are visible don't seem to have damage corresponding to what is on the inverter.

Happy to announce, all arrived today. Ahead of schedule.

Yeah, I looked at Solar Sovereign too, but after looking at the numerous negative comments about Signature Solar's support, I wouldn't want to add even more complexity to an issue they are already struggling with. Seems like another level of plausible deniability.

Signature Solar and EG4 are different companies, allegedly. So support from one should not reflect on support from the other. I have had excellent interactions with Solar Sovereign and would highly recommend them.

Sovereign is legit. They are a sub-dist under the Signature Solar umbrella. He and the EG4 products he sells have the full support of our team. I can confirm he is not in it to scam. Just a super intelligent young entrepreneur trying to break into the solar game. He's been fairly successful so far. I hope to see him continue to grow.
Legit? I've been waiting for over a month for a return label from them, all I get is "it's coming"

I recently put in a large order with solar sovereign and after 17 days of getting the in stock " Item will ship soon " response's I canceled the order and received a prompt refund . I won't waste my time again.

He's legit? That's debatable. If he's a sub-dist under signature solar he's giving you a bad name. He shipped wrong item, offered to pay for reurn shipping, took 3 weeks to get a label, now three weeks and waiting to get refund, say Signature Solar has to inspect
