My shed's roof is white

I was excited to add panels to the roof of the shed to see further cooling from the shading.

I covered the roof with 6 bifacial panels with only a little bit of roof left exposed.

Next day I noticed inverter temperature was higher than normal. What the hey? So I measured the roof with my infrared gun to check the temperatures and wouldn't you know it's hotter in the shade under the solar panels, than the white roof exposed to the sun!

Ambient temp 88f
White roof exposed 121f
Shaded roof area under solar panels 124f

Top side of solar panels 135f
Bottom side of solar panels 147f

If the roof has slope and you have a few inches of space under the panels, it will start a convective current through there and siphon the heat out the top. A breeze can also act on that setup.
Down tight to the surface is bad for the panels, they groove on cooler temperatures.

That’s impressive heat gain.

Prob on par if it was a panel over a regular asphalt shingle so nothing to be concerned about.
I'm not concerned much just didn't realize that shading the roof with panels would make it hotter 😂
