AliExpress Dispute?

has anyone had any success with an AliExpress Dispute? My Daly BMS which was supposed to have low temp protection (went back and forth through messages to make sure they understood before ordering). AliExpress denied my dispute, even though I referenced the messages.

If anyone has any hints for success, let me know, but if not, take heed, AliExpress is NOT Amazon or Ebay, they do not have a valid dispute process.

Only $127 so it's not the end of the world, but it's sort of the principle at this point. Daly assured me multiple times that they would send me one with a separate thermocouple and 0deg C low temp protection. They did not even bother, and when I asked what happened, they just sent me a message telling me what the BMS does. Won't buy Daly again, but it's disappointing that Ali has no real buyer protection (not really a surprise I guess).

Yeah, there's definitely a language barrier I think, more than malfeasance. I bought 30+ guitars from different places on Aliexpress. After the first few I realized I was just ordering samples to see what kind of quality I could get. About 20% of them were great quality, so I just wrote the others off to learning experience rather than hassle them (or stress out). For $127 you have a BMS without some of the features you want, but something which works, probably for a fraction of the cost of a "US name" brand which was also made in China but with higher QC. I also realized that every place which has "buyer protection" involves you sending the unacceptable product back. And even in the US that is usually cost prohibitive. Cheap stuff is cheap which is great, but there's a reason. Good luck with your project. Don't let this stress you out, its not worth it.

That is very strange. Aliexpress ALWAYS follow up, on their messages. I have a couple issues of not receiving items I ordered and Aliexpress ALWAYS step in on my side.

I just gave up. AliExpress wanted a video of it not working properly. I'd have to install it, and freeze it? Pretty much what you get from any Chinese company: "send me a video" Except this wasn't the company.

I have had the total opposite success with ALIEXPRESS .. they have normally (read: always) taken the seller side of the complaint .. I almost see complaining to them like complaining to the BBB ...all mouth - no teeth

NOW - I have won every complaint by simply calling my Credit Card company and saying that the good that they sent me was not as described - and they refund my money and go after the seller ...

IF you don't mind .. can you send me the link to the DALY that you ordered ... I am curious about something ...

Daly sent Will a BMS that was suppose to have low temp cut off a couple of months ago.
The low temp cut off didn't work.

Actually the VENDOR that was selling it is the one that said that it HAD low temperature cutoff ... BUT if you check the official DALY spec sheet on their site it says it does NOT have LO TEMP disconnect .... so basically a vendor either not understanding english or just lying or being confused ..

As of today DALY is saying that it is PLANNING on adding that capability (which would be very easy)

OK, I did not know that. I was going off my memory of what Will had said in the video. I didn't re-watch the whole video.
The distinction does change things.
Anyone of us could make a mistake like that.

I have been ordering for +15 years from AliExpress and Alibaba.

Often successful, sometimes problems.

When there are problems, the dispute department is most of the time reasonable.
Be aware, they are not technical support engineer that handle the dispute.

Keep it really, really simple.
Your Great- grandmother should understand.

When too technical, they like visual proof.

You found out it doesn't work.
So, you can reproduce those steps, yes?
If the specification sheet tells it doesn't have, and the seller told you it did, just keep it to that.
2 pictures.
Clean and simple.

For the low temperature cutoff..
There are cheap solutions outside the BMS that can handle this for you.

This way, you are still able to use the otherwise good BMS.

You have to tripple check when guying on Aliexpress. More often than not the people handling sales are not technical and so sometimes get it very wrong.

I once intended on buying a solar pump from a supplier and the sales lady was saying something totally different from the data on the pump performance curve that she had sent me. It has happened with two different suppliers, actually.

New and was wondering if Alibaba is really reliable to order from? And do they sell good quality stuff?

Alibaba isn't a seller, it's a marketplace. So the question is like asking if Ebay reliable and sells good quality stuff - sometimes, yes. Some of the sellers, some of the products, yes. Support will vary. It's generally a wholesale marketplace so there are order size minimums.
